Another amazing find from Robert (RLK). I am pretty sure this one is early 1900s.

J. Hückel´s Söhne Plume Melone, size 6 Point, plus hat case. Feather light, flexible and fits perfect (wears like a soft felt).

J. Hückel´s Söhne Zephyr Seal Velour, size 7 3/8, color black, very good condition, made for the American market, probably 1938-39.

Alan, As far as I know that was just a description of the Velour finish (looks like wet Seal fur).

"Not a velour. Might be quite old. D'Orsay curl with stitched over welt brim and tapered crown of moderate height. Age deterioration of fabric portions."

Modest proportions, perhaps for the Latvian retailer's market. H.M.Armijas Ekonomiska Veikale, Riga. Amazing condition.

Hückel Zephyr Seal Velour

Not new to the F'Lounge. Wide brim of 2-13/16". Very soft and slightly less firm(more floppy) than most velours. No retailer labeling that I can discover.

Robert, They are both super! The JHS Standard Homburg is a very rare find! I haven't seen that liner logo before. Is there a paper label? I am thinking the Seal Velour might be later. The liner is similar to my brim hacked dark green Seal Velour. Really great color!

Thanks for posting the paper labels. There is Czecho-slovakia on the Seal Velour paper label so looks like I could be wrong but it might still be a transistion piece. The right side size addition on the paper label is interesting. Is that part of the original label?

The Int'l. sizes are printed on the original label with different ink and contradict the sizing. Did the Factory continue to operate under Hückel name after the territory returned to Czechoslovakia or was there a break and then Tonak?

Robert, I am not clear about the name rights post WWII. It appears TONAK and Hückel were used at about the same time. I do recall that the factory was still under Hückel control for a short time after WWII so this could be another factor. Eventually we see TONAK using Hückel outside the German market and Hückel Weilheim using it for the German market. What is interesting about this light color Hückel Seal Velour is that it has Czecho-slovakia on the paper label and Czechoslovakia on the sweatband. I am sure it's a export model because of the "Made in" on the paper label. My guess would be that it is from this post war transition period.

Has abbreviations next to each: E.S.(English Size) 6-7/8, cm.56, 4-1/2 P.R.(Punti?), 7 A.S.(American Size) although the 5 is more accurate.
Fairly generous for a 5.
