Is this Schott Cafe Racer too big?

Hello,

I purchased this Schott P5525 cafe racer in the spring as a reward to myself for losing weight. Since then, I've gone on to lose more. Does the jacket look too large?

It's a size L and the shoulders feel good. I opted out of the M because it was hard to zipper in the spring, but i think I would have no problem now. Also the sleeves were a tad short.

My biggest issue is that it seems baggy on the body. What do you all think? Keep or sell?

Thanks!

Very nice looking jacket! It looks good. What Carlos said, Schott is kinda forgiving around the stomach area (just makes me realize how much of a jackpot my CR was). But anyway, the sleeves would bother me... My honest opinion, you could do better. What about CAF1? Those are really nice! More fitted, longer sleeves.

Thanks, everyone.

I did try the CAF1 when making this purchase. It was heavier than I liked and the Large was way bigger than the P5525. Would have tried the Medium but was not crazy about the elongated front.

I'm fine with the sleeve length. The extra leather on the sides, which are accentuated since I cinched down the side gussets to the max, are my biggest issue. I am also considering a 641hh, but the thought of trying to sell this one thinks it's TME if the P5525 is ok.

I have to say the CAFE 1 does look more of a traditional cafe racer, whereas the first one is more of a fashion jacket. I think it fits ok.

I prefer longer sleeves on my jackets but if you're fine with 'em I would say that the jacket is perfectly fine otherwise.

Yes, this P5525 is lightweight and more like the 654. Will check out the 641hh. If it fits better, will look to flip this one. Otherwise keep. I feel like I still look like the old me versus the thinner me in this jacket. Lol

Welcome to FL Manfred! I say relax and wear it, it needs some breaking in!!

Great work on the weight loss, aiming for about 10 lbs myself by December.

10 lbs ?
December? no problem. Begin a "diabetic friendly" diet and you'll drop 10 lbs in about seven days. Works for just about anybody.

I would keep it, the leather and the fit look great.

fit would drape better once the leather sags more around your real body, it doesn't look too bad at all fit wise... the leather and blacked out hardware however is not so inspiring but that's just my opinion :)

Not sure if you could tell, but this model comes with side gussets which use long strands of rawhide. I've tucked them in to keep them out of sight.

Yes, never understood the attraction of blacked-out zips etc. The jacket fits fine around the body, but the sleeves seem a smidgen under. As Monitor said, I think you could find something a bit nicer, tbh, as it's just a little shapeless.
