Is my avatar "dodgy"? (i.e. "shady", "seedy", "questionable")

Something Matei mentioned recently made me think... is my avatar "dodgy"? (i.e. "shady", "seedy", "questionable")

I originally posted a pic of me when I joined the lounge last fall, in a suit with a backward baseball cap (joke), captioned "hatless", asking if the lounge is only for hat-wearers (of which I am not one). My avatar is cropped from that. Thus my expression, from when I was asking the original question.

But wondering now, out of context, if I might put folks off looking too... "dodgy"... let me know thanks

I was looking at it and, forgive me if this sounds like an insult, I thought you used a picture of Adam Corolla. That is really you. Sorry about that.
I guess it could be worse but I think the avatar is just fine no matter who it is. :eusa_clap

J

You're sporting a fine smirk there, Cousin Hepcat! I have one as well, though in my youth several nuns threatened to wipe it off my face.:)

Your face looks apologetic, like youre caught in an "oops", as first I thought dodgy, but now its more, "you caught me" :D

LD

I'm not so sure about apologetic, but it's definitely got the "Oops, you got me!" thing going on.

Are cats who swallow canaries dodgy?

(You do look a little shiftless, however. Has anyone tried to shift you lately?)

Heyyyy, Wait A Minute... I just looked up "rakish" (I'd always assumed from context in movies, etc that it meant "handsome")... it means "immoral and dissolute (immoral)"! :( Methinks I've been bamboozled! lol kinda funny the way you did it though, so it's ok!

LD, yes, the original context of the expression was "apologetic" (no hat).

Pablochan, your avatar looks like John Carradine as "the preacher" in The Grapes of Wrath.

.

It is Hank Williams in the jailhouse, but I am not certain of the when or the why. I recently saw a photo of Hank III copping the same shirtless pose.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of...

rak·ish1 (rā'kĭsh) pronunciation
adj.

1. Nautical. Having a trim, streamlined appearance.
2. Dashingly or sportingly stylish; jaunty.

Thanks all for the honest comments & complements, I think the survey says this avatar can stay until I can get some vintage threads and a hat (not sure when though, lot going on now) - PS I really like the comparisons to Hank Williams Sr :) and never noticed before, Jamespowers, how much I do look like Adam Corolla! man that's almost Scary! lol

Ah haha, I was going to call it "cute," but then realized it might not be the best thing to say considering you're a man. ;)
