Even with Indy 4 coming out, and pictures available... the concensus (including me) seems to be that the Raiders bashes are the the most popular. For me, it's a tie among three Raiders scenes; the Idol Grab, the Well of Souls, and the Flying Wing fight. :fedora:

Its not Indiana but I like the hat worn by 'Fedora' in the Last Crusade.

It reminds me of the crease in my Federation and of the hat used in The Young Indiana Jones TV series. Notice the narrower ribbon on the hat worn by 'Fedora'. Both hats have the semi-open pinch and shallow top crease.

This kinda explains Indy's love of a fedora, the opening part of The Last Crusade.

Just spent a happy few minutes watching that RBH,what a good film. But it reminds me again what wonderful machines computers are and what you can do with them. Sorry for stating the obvious ,but thanks for showing that RBH.

RBH: I was under the impression the one he wore as a teenager through to adulthood was the same fedora that the unnamed adventurer gave to him as a 12 year old, and it just so happened to fit him. The ones made back then could withstand tonnes of abuse and clean up nicely. :) Of course, yes, he could have just gotten his own after being inspired...

RBH, that's one scene that really stuck with me, yeah. As long as they're done well, I like those sort of flashback sequences that flesh out a character. Actually, I've always wanted to see more of the Fedora guy... what happened to him after that incident? If he was so mercenary and doing it for the money - not the museum - what's gonig on in that scene? Is it amusement at the young Indy's (in Fedora's eyes) misplaced enthusiasm, or deos he remind him of his younger self? His whole look is very reminiscent of the garb later adopted by Jones - coincidence, in-reference, standard archaelogist garb in Lucas & Spielberg's world, or.... other? Of course, i think Indy himself at one point could have gone the same mercenary way (as hinted at, I think, by the "fortune and glory" musings in Temple.

I like that idea too, though I suspect more likely he wore that first one to death (hmmnn.... does that scene tie in at all with the continuity in the TV series?), then repalced it and carried on wearing similar hats. If memory serves, he lost the hat (also the leather jacket? I'm sure in the movie novelisation it said he lost both, but I don't recall what we see in the film - been meaning to sit down with the DVDs forever, but I've just not found the time) in the Nazi base Raiders, set in 36, so it's probably a new hat in Last Crusade. The Last Crusade hat could could conceivably be the one in Crystal Skull.

as to bashes.... well, they all look pretty great to me. When I can afford the jacket, I'm planning to go for one cut Raiders style (though with the larger internal pocket to accomodate a Grail diary), so a Raiders bash probably makes the most sense (I'll likely use the CS bash we've seen on the poster on another colour Fed, though). Quite probably the idol grab, given how iconic the scene is.
