Lee Miller also took some excellent WWII photos. She was accredited as the War Correspondent/Photographer for "Vogue" magazine but was as close to the front as she could get, not taking "fashion" photos. Get a copy of "Lee Miller's War".

Couldn't agree more, and I have no problem watching that film over and over. My wife sits there lusting Glenn Ford.
Although she rather likes Rita too, says that Rita set the benchmark in elegance.

In the early years of WW2, all that was left to face the military might of Hitler's Third Reich, was The RAF. High Command threw in every available pilot during those few months. It was left to the ladies to learn to fly so that new aircraft could be delivered from the factories to the airfields. Known as The ATA, these young women flew everything from the small fighter planes to the heavy bombers. One such lady became an icon of her time. A real life, Rosie the Riveter. Her name was Mauren Dunlop, she had a casual air that sent many a heart a flutter. Mauren passed away last year, at the grand age of 92. Here she is stepping out of a Spitfire, with that casual air, just throwing her parachute over her back. Not film star, but a pin up all the same.
