If I had to pick one girl from the golden era

Bacall has been off my pretty list ever since I witnessed her throw a full blown hissy fit in the lobby of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

Hissy fit or not, she's one of my faves. Lake, Rogers, Grace Kelly, Gene Tierney all make my list.

My Golden Era Female

My favorite girl of the Golden Era is not an actress but she did do a sort of pin up. Her name was Nannie Lou Lancaster. In 1950 she married a handsome Army Air Force veteran by the name of Asa McDonald Russ. He called her Nan Lou, but I always called her Mama. She passed away in December of 2010. I sorely miss her.

Thanks. I lost her just before Christmas. She was 79 when she passed. She was beautiful even then too. Lost my dad five years a go. My dad taught me how to dress. I miss them more and more each day.

Didnt know this until today:

Notorious for her unstable personal life, Darnell was incapable of dealing with Hollywood, and landed in a downward spiral of alcoholism, unsuccessful marriages and highly publicized or scandalous affairs.She failed to receive recognition from the industry and its critics, and disappeared from the screen in the 1950s. Darnell died from burns sustained in a house fire.
