Does the FEDIV Imperial or the FEDIV Deluxe grt any spidering/rumpling in the crown? I recieved an Akubra Campdraft Inperial Bluegrass Green recently and the spidering is throughout my bash.

I've never seen any of that in any of mine, but I never dry crease any hat, which could be a contributing factor. Moisture prevents the felt from cracking as it's creased, especially creases on the sharper side.

It's been nearly three years since any of my Akubras were new, but I seem to recall at least one of them exhibiting the "spidering" you're referring to when I gave it it's first dry crease. As Scott wrote above, moisture helps with that and after spraying (soaking, really) my hats with distilled water to refine the crease all of those little imperfections went away as I shaped the felt.

Assuming we're comparing Imperial Quality to Imperial Quality and Heritage Quality to Heritage Quality, I'd say yes. There might be minor variations that are inherent in the felting process, but unless you're doing an in-depth examination they shouldn't be noticeable.

As much as Hats Direct denies the Fed is based on the hats in the Indiana Jones franchise ("At no stage do we make any claim that this hat is a replica of the Indiana Jones hat as used in the movies."), it does seem they have altered/modified the Fed since it's initial release in 1998 to appease customers who wanted a "Raiders" hat, then a "Last Crusade" hat, and in it's current incarnation a "Crystal Skull" hat.

@johnnycanuck has a Fed III, but I don't know if he has a Fed IV as well.

I have to ask, did you put a telescope crease in the crown? It seems a bit tapered. Not too tapered, just making an observation.

I think the angle of the photo gives the impression that the crown is more tapered than it actually is. All three of my Fed IVs currently have a Diamond crease, and...well, you be the judge:
