I mentioned the vintage ties my mother-in-law gave me earlier.
Unfortunately some customers will say things like "I know you like ties so here." and will hand me a thoughtful gift of an extra-ordinarilly ugly tie. Some relatives have done the same thing. I do wear and like ties but it is funny that they don't consider the style I wear. Oh well, they mean well.

A dear supportive friend at work once commented that she liked my old ties (40's vintage) and came in with a bunch of nice skinny 60's vintage ties for me. Gak! I tried to camouflage my reaction, since they were given with sincere affection. But of course I don't wear them. I guess it's the thought that counts!
As far as "Eccentric" is concerned, it means off center, orbiting a slightly different center of gravity, marching to a different drummer. Popeye said it best: "I am what I am and that's all what I am!"
If anyone has a problem with it, maybe they should have a talk with the chaplain! (As we used to say in the Corps)

Good luck in getting rid of them on eBay as well. They go for like $5 a dozen. That's my experience anyway. :eusa_doh: [huh]

Yes- when I think eccentric, I think of things that are slightly goofy, not necessarily one who has a distinct taste in lifestyle, clothes, music etc...

I love eccentric people, they are so interesting!
