Finally after 4 years I finally managed to snatch what I consider to be my crown jewel in my collection of jackets!
Its the CHP model jacket that Ive always wanted off the Lost Worlds and Aero websites. Now Its not a Lost Worlds or an Aero model, but an Original Cop jacket and which the seller surprised me by including the original Mouton collar (the ever elusive accessory that I could never find!). My jacket buying fever has finally been cured till Next year when Ill finally try and get myself A Trojan or a Buco custom for me, till then I'll spend the rest of my time fixing up the Original M445 I have on the way! :) Also the fact that I got the jacket for $40 is what made this even better! Also could anyone tell me when was the time they used these fat talon zippers? I'm sure someone on here might know. Also The grain reminds me of one horsehide jacket I had for a while before I sold it to a fellow lounger. Could it possibly be horsehide? Also it smells like that jacket as well.

The Talon Paper Clip zipper was used from the late 1950s on wards.

Good score strokes.....bitchin' jacket. $40? You stole it man.

coffee
Thanks aswatland I know you always have a good knowledge on the older stuff! :)
@to much coffee: I know! no one else put a bid on it plus I got lucky that it was one of those "its to small for me now" sellers :D

Wow a langlitz with a collar for under 400? thats a good deal! I wanted one earlier but with all the padding on it, but the auction went above $500 :/

You know, here in EU it's pretty hard to get a Langlitz, but fortunately also this Guzzista grew up in size in the last years...:p

Lucky almost nothing from Langlitz stays under 400 here unless its badly worn :( lol if you need a belt there's a seller from which I bought my Vanson who has some belts for under $100 but he's located in the USA

We'll see, perhaps I'll get a Langlitz Sam Brown, they sell them for 100$ and it would compliment it.

I think "our" jackets were meant to be worn with a belt.

Hmm sounds like a good deal with international shipping it would probably come close to $100 anyways. They were but for some reason I like it better without one on. Just a personal choice :D

Congratulations, your jacket looks like it was made by Cal-Leathers in Ventura. I bought a similar one for my daughter recently. They were all custom made for law enforcement. Mine has the paper clip Talon main zipper, but the sleeves have Crown spring zippers which dates mine circa 1950. They are still in business and have a website . Ask for Gwen. Good Luck with it!

Oh believe me I know about Cal-leathers! i remember earlier last year I contacted them about a getting a Mouton collar but it was outta my price range. Hmm I don't know if I'm spelling correctly but it appears to stay Conmatic on both my sleeve zippers so Im gonna say around the 50s to?

That's a great looking jacket. Is it in fact a Cal-Leathers? I had no idea Cal-Leathers was still around. Does anyone know how much their new jackets go for? They seem to only make the one classic style.

Horsehide jackets with a hand-tooled belt and mouton collar is $2000 last time I checked. This one is a lot cheaper and very cool. What a find. These jackets sell for a lot less than a Langlitz and are just as good.

Wow, pricey. Don't new Langlitz jackets go for about half that?

Cuthbert I was watching Magnum Force (second dirty harry film)the other night and when David Soul was going to "work" he picked up his CHP jacket and the full gun/equipment belt was worn on the jacket held in place with the jacket's belt loops so the whole lot was put on as one item. So I guess any cop belt such as one of those basket weave ones wouldn't look out of place on one.

Oh and I don't know what brand it could have been made by. There's no label anywhere! But either way It wont change my love for this jacket :D
