I just finished my first sewing project and you already want me to get into business?! ;)

BTW- I just got a 1930s six fold tie pattern from ebay AND a friendly lounger gave me a couple of fabrics which should arrive in the next days.

Henrik

Not?[huh] It was pretty common until the mid-late 30s. It disappeared when fully lined ties became more popular in the late 30s and you won't see that much(, if any,) 1940s tie with a visible seam.

Here you are(If you don't mind me to post this pic, Marc?)

Actually, 90% of vintage ties from 'teens, '20s and '30s had stitching along the point. Why? Because most ties from those decades were unlined.

.
Machine stitched? I have ties that have hand stitched points but no stitching is seen on the front, just a bit of puckering like a hand rolled handkerchief.

The tie is still plain khaki, so I'm in the need for a design.

Any ideas from the more creative of you?

I was thinking about something in chocolate brown, but that's all.[huh]

A long time ago I had a few designs for ties I wanted to make, but for some reason that never happened. They were mostly abstract deco-esque shapes I intended to paint by hand. I'll dig them up, perhaps you could use them.

P.S.
Great job on that tie!

Henrik- I'm going to be learning silkscreening next year in my AP art class.
You're going to need to teach me this tie making skill of yours so that I can sew my own and silkscreen the designs onto them which i've always wanted on a tie but never been able to find.
