Very good looking shapes and colour, Mikael. From strength to strength!
Thank you kindly. Much appreciated.

I also meant to ask what exact colors are the felt and ribbon. The felt appears to have a touch of red in it. Is it the Dark Brown Rust? You know what I have been pondering lately.
Will stay in touch and arrange for a swatch to choose one.I am placing the order this week. It should be for both Oxblood and a Cognac color. Both in 50X Beaver. I expect those to arrive in January.
I can't wait till you start my dark rust Raggnar Mikael..... Nice hats you make.
Well, that sounds good to me, thanks.Thank you kindly. Before the end of the year at least.
The rabbit/hare is, or will soon be, no longer available from Hufvud.
Just the damn colour selection is so limited and hohum to me.Good to know. That was what my Hufvud was made from, but the 100% beaver is calling my name. The sirens’ song.

That's a great color.Although I am yet to receive my first Winchester beaver to compare with, I think that from modern offerings, Fepsa in pure beaver ticks all the boxes. Marketing aside (felt body prices?) I can't see why beaver blends with rabbit/hare furs are better or more "reshapable" than 100% beaver ones, unless we are talking about longer nap/hair finishes where hare may has some clear advantages. Just my thoughts
Anyways this discussion inspired me to wear mine today

I very much like the rust hues of this dark brown
Have a great New Year's Eve everyone,

Yes, he is, isn't he? I'm with Brent: I think I might give Hufvud another shot with a 100 percent beaver. The felt I chose last time by color wasn't to my liking at all, but 100 beaver and Hufvud lines and sweatband are very tempting. It's a beautiful hat, Panos and it's good to see Mikael is getting better and better.
You are a lucid writer, too. I will order a hat later in the year for sure.Happy New Year Everyone! Thanks for the compliments and for commenting. Panos, you look great in that hat!
I am thankful that you are considering to place an order. I am happy to discuss everything in detail before you do. At the moment, I am not able to send out samples of my felt. It's a bit of an administration hassle that I have not worked out yet. It's about 3 months wait for a hat. I am currently finishing up orders from October and slowly moving forward. Your contribution to Hufvud and the rich information this forum has to offer is a true blessing. This is a full-time job for me. It pays the bills and puts food on the table. That's why I work 7 days a week to be where I am today.
I continuously aim to improve my own skills in creating hats and I won't stop doing that until I retire (+40 years later). I do not claim to be better than any well-established hatmaker out there, but I aim to place my own mark on the industry. I am moving away from Pure Rabbit or Rabbit blends and I focus on ordering in Beaver blends and pure beaver. All FEPSA. In the course of the year I will have more colors available, should you have any color suggestions please let me know.
Feel free to follow my blog on my homepage, it's where I write weekly updates. I will post more through here as well. Time to sleep, up at 5 am to create wonderful hats to the world. Thanks again for your support!
