How to Wear White Bucks?

I was thinking white pants, a navy blue blazer, white shirt, a patterned or striped tie, and a straw hat. Picked up a two button navy Brooks blazer with gold buttons and a matching pair of cufflinks.

So I was also looking at a traditional seersucker blazer in the blue-white stripe to wear with the ivory linen pants white bucks combo. Anyone ever wear seersucker and what are your thoughts on it

I thought the dark blue blazer would be a more formal and the seersucker a mid day less formal

How do you folks feel instead about wearing all white (with white sole) leather shoes, like the ones worn by US Navy Officers?
I've recently picked a pair of these Bates ones, almost new, for a few bucks on the bay, but have no clue how/if I'll wear them.

I was thinking about the OP's question of How to Wear Bucks?

Thoughts- I like the idea I have in my mind of the shoes having an "edge." White Bucks, IMO, were easily made mainstream in the 1950's by music performers, ala Pat Boone/Elvis. It would be a stretch to say that the shoes represented the wholesome, clean-cut and youthful as many who wore them with pride did not fit this image. Conflicting image was a cool factor in the 50's. Then came Preppies and on to present times. IMO, The wearing of white bucks not-so-subtly implies that one wasn't about do anything with their day that was likely to soil the sparklingly pristine snow white footwear. White Bucks, in that sense, can be the ideal casual shoe for the man or woman of leisure, means or emulating a vintage school inspired ensemble.

Brooks Brothers calls it the "third shoe" between dress and casual. Shape and structure -business. Fabric and soles - casual.

I have worn them with a wide variety of wardrobe. Generally they get worn from May - early Sept. by me in Minnesota, USA.

Many worry about marks or no-marks on the shoe. I do like my shoes clean and ready. Dirty or slightly soiled do not make them available for casual evening attire, so not for me.

I gotta agree the “working man” who worked with his hands in days past didn’t wear white shoes they would get dirty too easily. White shoes meant you weren’t a manual laborer

But what belt do you wear with them? And does the pants color matter for the belt?

I have a seersucker suit and two jackets and wear them all the time in the sultrier months, usually with either blue canvas deckshoes or tan wingtips or weaves. Perfect for the tropics, especially with a straw hat. I couldn't wear the white bucks, though: I can still remember Pat Boone's version of "Tutti Fruitti."

Generally, I don't like wearing them with anything other than white or faded, light-weight jeans. The suit is for more formal occasions. I also have a seersucker vest that I wear, as well as a number of linen or linen-silk vests that are great for the warmer weather. Down here you have to be a little creative.

I have the RN equivalent. I wear them basically anywhere and any way I'd wear a pair of co-respondents. They're a great alternative to bucks being easier cleaned... Good substitute for saddle shoes too. The original plan when I bought mine was to wear them with a pair of navy pegged slacks, white shirt, pale yellow tie and a sky-blue linen box-blazer - basically the Elvis does Tupelo look (Elvis wore Gucci loafers, but I wasn't into those at the time). I still think that's a sharp look.

Prior to Alden's price increase I had ordered some shoes. One pair was a replacement of my vtg. Alden "Bucks." The original pair has been well used with 1 sole replacement. The tops were beginning to show wear and the soles needing consideration for another re-sole. Time for new Bucks. I have taken time this morning to nano coat them using the Bick product. It does not change the color of the suede. After drying I will suede brush the shoes and the nap will be normal.

My 'Bucks" are ready for warm weather. Shoe trees and protective bags go into my shoe rack for storage until warm weather.

Agreed - well done. I would suggest considering a light-colored sock - cream / off-white - with a noticeable texture (marled works well) to better harmonize the sock and shoe colors and to align to the not-business style of the shoes and trousers. But this is a minor quibble - the outfit looks great.
