Regretfully....

I will not be able to be with you ladies and gentlemen this week-end.
I will be incurring some auto repair expenses that will prevent me from attending this time. Hopefully, I will get a chance to meet everyone one of these days.

I really wanted a chance to see Holly, Leslie and Big T again.

I am sure you guys will have a lot of fun.

I don't know if I can make sunday as well,but monday still works. However,my husband has to work.
I'm always off on mondays,so I assumed his company would recognize this as a holiday.

I'd still like to check out that area though.Maybe I can change plans around.

Noon at Big Tex sounds great! I'm not sure what I'll be wearing as I don't have many vintage things. But if the weather isn't too cool, I may wear a red bandana print shirt. If it's cold, I'll have my Indiana Jones leather jacket on.

Since, you know, I started this thing. And I'm really not as bad in person as I seem to be on the internet. My oldest daughter's grandfather lives in Seguin and is not doing too well and has a heart condition as well as other ailments. My two girls and my wife are going over there this weekend and leaving my son with me. It also appears that I will be working Monday also. I'm selfemployed but when there is a three day weekend I'm kinda busy. I say let's try to plan something before Christmas, with some real advance notice. Maybe book a Club or something. Anyway I hope y'all have fun without me.

Sorry I couldn't make it. I was very bad on sunday. Went vintage shopping,hoping to find a few things and hit the jackpot.Very much broke,but very worth it.
How was it? Hope you had a blast!

My BF and I made it to Big Tex about 12:10 (due to heavy traffic going into the Fair). We waited for about 15 minutes and assumed no one was showing and headed off to enjoy the park. Ate our hearts out!

Ruby, what vintage shops did you hit? I need to shop for a dress in a few weeks to take to the Queen Mary.

Spent 20 years living in Texas (Coppell). Went from Yankee (visitor) to a Damn Yankee (resident) to an accepted member of the Republic of Texas. Been gone from Texas for 7 years but the folks here in Georgia know that I'm still a Texan.

Just one.My favorite,it's called Bon Ton and it's in Forreston,Texas. She had quite a bit of 40s,not much 30s. Like most vintage stores it's hit or miss,mostly because she has a lot of theatrical companies coming in and getting the good stuff first.

I'm resurrecting an old tradition from when I first started dancing. A friend of mine came up with a group called "The Swing Set Supperclub" and once a month we'd pick a nice restaraunt for dinner and head out to a club where we could hear a good band and take a few spins on the floor.
Of course dressed to the nines.

There's a great lounge band called Ricki Derek and The Vegas Six playing at Sambuca in Addison on the 22nd of this month.It has a great supperclub feel there,but modernized a bit.
Of course,that's only 2 weeks away,but we'll be there regardless,so if anyone's interested let me know.

The fair was a great idea but the timing stunk. I'm thinking something we could invest a couple of days in. I dunno maybe the Stock Show or something?

I'll be out of town this weekend (the 22nd), but would be up for the Hangar Hotel after Christmas holidays, due to being strapped for cash right now. I usually make it out to the Stock Show each year, so I'd definitely be up for that if others were interested too.
