Your jacket is very quiet front and back, that side adjusters give it a characterThanks. Yeh, at this point I am just reaffirming with myself that I made the right call - too late to change it so I want to love it.

I have the exact same one for sale in the classified, size 42. Fantastic jacket, too snug for me (I'm between 44 and 46)The top one with the patch pocket would have proven too irresistible if I had seen it!!

I wouldn’t question that! They will help shape the body. That jacket is cool AF!!!Greg just put the whole production of my jacket on his Instagram story:

Moving the buckles up from the bottom to waist level was a last minute decision that I’m starting to question.
@ JMax I missed the CA tannery link can you enter the link here?May it have a long life. Been reading the link by @JMax on California Tanneries in the vintage thread. Block was an owner in one of the Tanneries. Love the color of this jacket.

Nice, I like the single angled breast pocket layout on these Wards and Sears surcoats. The shearling collar adds a nice touch.View attachment 317185 View attachment 317186 View attachment 317187 View attachment 317188 Couldn’t resist. Rare with 26” sleeves.
Shearling liner needs a bit of TLC so I’ll shoot it to Dena.
I got the same pocket on my Schott long halfbelt. It's probably the most practical pocket I have on all my jackets and possibly the coolest looking.Nice, I like the single angled breast pocket layout on these Wards and Sears surcoats. The shearling collar adds a nice touch.
Mines has now changed to "Exchange"! Pretty excited now.between factory and "in production" I had a short "exchange". but maybe only because I had thought about a change.

Right my other Cal racer has the 60s teardrop pocket zips and very little graining I would not want to bet either way if it was horse or steer. @ JMax I think you would really appreciate handling the earlier 6 panel Cal. Both are steller jacketsNice. You can definitely see the difference between this hide and the later hides more commonly seen with the teardrop pulls.

There’s a lot of unlabeled Cals out there. Unfortunately most people know what they are. But there’s always a few that are out there for the taking. If you know Cals you know them when you see them.@jonbuilder Mine has the round pulls, so probably a jacket that came out after your diamond pull-equipped jacket but before the teardrop bad boys. An in-betweener, that's my guess at least. Looks like the transition in leather already started. I've owned Cals with the "thinner" hide, less prone to grain. This is not that. It will grain and is thick, comparatively. But it isn't as thick as the earlier hide your latest acquisition seems to be made of.
The seller of mine did not know it was a Cal. Hee hee.
