How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Happy ending on this one for me. Apparently the high bidder backed out, because I got a "second chance" offer from eBay on it today, and accepted it. I'm worried it'll be tight on me, but we'll see. It looks like a nice heavy horsehide center-zip police jacket. Listing said '40's vintage, but I am sure it's not that old. Maybe more like '60s. Any guess as to maker? I don't think it's a Cal, maybe it could be Taylor's or Appalachian, but I have no clue honestly. Doesn't seem to have any maker's tag or size tag in it, and that means I probably paid too much.

I do not think it is Appalachian, but don't know who made it. Looks to be late 40s early 50s. The zipper stop may help with dating. Very nice looking jacket that appears to be in excellent condition. There were small makers around the country making uniform jackets for Police work. This jacket is an example of a regional maker in Minneapolis

Whoever stamped those zips and ok’d them for production was a straight up dumb ass idiot. It had to be a production line mistake but they never should’ve been installed. I’d throw that one back in the goodwill bin. Not worth the effort for an excelled jacket to replace the pulls.

Incredible it was approved but otherwise the jacket was dirt cheap and it isn't bad at all. It's not one of those painted split hide models that are most often found on eBay plus it fits okay. I know these are dime a dozen in the States but a nice cross zip like that is still a rarity where I am.

I think the dremel tool idea is a good one in that case. Should be relatively easy to buff those letters right off. Plus it will be kind of fun, I always love an excuse to pull out my Dremel tool.

That one was a bit much for me, can't wait to see what it looks like on you.
Please let us know what The Polskanator says about that one!

I hope I don’t feel like I’m a stand-in for a Chick-fil-A ad, but this jacket caught my eye a long time ago. Never found it in a size I could wear. Plus— D pocket.

No need to wait, she hates it. “Too much going on, stop trying so hard” lol. It’s empowering having someone so supportive in your corner.

I have a new one picked out. Something real special I’m dying to get my hands on. But she’s already told me weddings off if I dare buy one more before getting rid of my stock. I’m trying! I’m like it’s not my fault, blame genetics. They made me a grown ass adult who’s still the same size as a middle school kid haha. No one is the same size as me. I’ll have to go to grailed or eBay me thinks. But yeah the support is just so nice. All the “that one is ugly, that one is too busy, that doesn’t match your boots, you’re trying to hard, don’t you dare buy another before these are jut the door.” Really really strong supporter of my hobby.

Ha, yes. I understand. And it’s fun to joke about it. Reality is that she will take a bat to the head of anyone or thing that messes with our family. She just likes to see the look on my face, then walks away giggling. I really try not to ask anymore, but sometimes I break.

Totally agree. She agreed to marry me after all. And anyone who can potentially spend forever with me...well let’s just say I’m not easy to get along with, most of the time I don’t even like me haha.

I’m in a bit of denial about my flaws. She sees them, that’s for sure.

Spongebob square pocket Herc for me. I’m trying to be the TM jr. and collect as many of these as I can. I can wear these jackets, which has been a challenge for me with vintage stuff in the past. Something about them. The oldest (I believe) Sears store is located 1 block from my house on Lawrence Ave. (it’s going condo now of course) but in the 1940’s and 50’s, had I been alive, I could’ve walked in and bought this puppy new.

This is my favorite, but the sleeves are very wide.

A customized Aero Highwayman in Cordovan FQHH to arrive, one sunny day.

Nothing more to come or „in process“ at this point. In fact i just gave one away, been a beautifully washed and broken in Active Jacket in Carhartt Brown.

Cheers
