How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Tony, I'm sure you know that's David Patton, the owner in that early catalog image. I moved to Tullahoma in 1978, not long after Patton bought the Co. I met him through a mutual friend and visited the shop a number of times while jackets were being produced there. Later on I got into a profession where Taylors was often used. I don't know jackets the way you guys do but I like their early stuff.

The early stuff is phenomenal and totally underrated! Doing a little research I found that Taylor's was an offshoot of Appalachian leather (50's HH civilian styles) so it makes sense the early stuff is as good as it is. The modern stuff doesn't appeal to me. Using corrected grain leathers, etc...just not the same. But I'd be lying if I said my CPD jacket wasn't my favorite jacket right now. Stylistically way outside my comfort zone, not the best fit...but I absolutely adore it.

Just came back from Tokyo with these. Buco JH-1, J-100 Padded, ANJ-3A and a Type 2 denim blanket lined. And yes, I went beserk, almost bought an A-2 too. Keep in mind that non-jacket items not shown here. Oh well, these are at half price and that's half the Japanese price without tax. So each of the leather jackets costs around USD830.

Today the last of the three jackets arrived so I lay out a bief update

The Langlitz Cascade is indeed horsehide like the sellers suggested. In fact, the richest horsehide I have ever handled including comparing with many earlier Buco, Starglove, and cal Leather horsehide jackets. Not as heavy as the Starglove or Cal but much richer texture. I have what I believe is a 70s maybe earlier Langlitz Cascade in steer hide that is noticeable heavier leather. The 70s Cascade is listed in the classifies.

The Buco Gray horsehide sport jacket size 44 is one size smaller than the size 46 Steerhide Buco jacket I had of the same pattern and color. My Steer hide jacket is heavier than the horsehide. I believe the steer hide jacket predates the horsehide jacket. Rin Tanaka suggested that Buco during the early 60s stop producing horsehide jackets and then restarted using a lower quality of horsehide and using the new horsehide label used in this Buco jacket. The hide on this jacket does not match the horsehide om my three 50s Buco horsehide jacket. J27, J24, J71. Also, there is some wonky stitching this, new to me, jacket. My old Buco Sport jacket sold within an hour on ebay. The new jacket shows less wear than the steer hide jacket, most notably the steer hide jacket is worn at the top of the collar, with missing top coat. Now that I have worn the new horsehide jacket for a day, I am missing the steer hide jacket and second-guessing the exchange.

The Aero Sunburst did not disappoint me. I agree with the ebay seller the jacket appears to have been barely worn, yet the jacket has the fell of CXL horsehide that is well into the break-in process without the mold to my body feature.

My wife is asking for a leather jacket, but I’m stumped...
She wants more “punk” than vintage, and “not like those heavy ones” I have...

Maybe check out Allstate leathers? Decent jacket for a low price. I picked one up for my girlfriend as she wants a red jacket. Its perfecto style, 1-1.2mm thick, pliable not stiff, and under 4lbs with .5mm removable full sleeve liner. Its not on par with what we normally look at for ourselves but overall decent on its own without a side by side.

I should also mention straight to hell. Normally I wouldn't but they are based in Chicago and have their samples for sale at Belmont Army Navy around $100. They are basically a Pakistan jacket with cool hardware, fashion forward, punk style, but run small. I think its mainly just womens at that price but not 100%. The labels aren't on the inside but you can tell they're straight to hell.

Can confirm! Got mine cheap, locally. Thought I'd just flip it for a $100 extra, 5 minutes after unboxing the jacket realized it's one I won't be parting with any time soon. Can't stop wearing it whenever the weather allows it (sz. 38, super tight in the waist so can't layer much). But yeah, brilliant jackets!

There has been a change of venue due to the Olympic this year. Tokyo's Winter Inazuma got moved to Yokohoma and the announcement came pretty late like Mid Nov. I am not sure about the venue for Spring Inazuma West in Osaka but if there is one then it should be around March. I usually go to the Winter one because you get first dip in the Winter and they just put up the unsold in Spring.
