How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

That’s why I thought the tapered waist might help create a more v shaped pattern. You think no? You are right about the IH. I don’t favor jackets without a drop/V shaped waist. I’m stuck as I really love the collar shape and want to create something of an LL dominator mod. Maybe a sheene is the better option? But can I get that collar and waist buckles/ band? I’ll need to find out.
I think that @technovox created a cross between a Cafe Racer Sheene and a Premier HWM with amazing results.
One of the coolest jackets I’ve seen. I think it was renamed around here as a Highwayracer or Sheeneman or the like, can’t remember. Still worth rediscovering that jacket as I think it’s pretty close to what you’re after.

Thanks Fonzie! Yes I do remember that! I’ll pm techno for his specs. That might be the ticket. My main concerns are the collar (I love the premier collar, to me it’s very 70’s, and the waist band and buckles). If only I could get it with the Afro queen and her ciggy label. That would truly be my dream jacket. I really wish I could go full hog and spec every little detail. I know it’s not the Aero way but I have such a clear vision for this jacket. How it should fit and be finished. Regardless, I really am done after this. Every journey has its end and I’m ready for the snap. Gotta get it right so I’m not applying epoxy and shoe polish down the road. I’m not made of money, don’t want a large collection of jackets. But I do want to pour my years of experience into one single piece.

Love that Sheeneman, I honestly think Aero should adopt this as an official pattern. Perhaps @technovox could snap a couple progression pics?

Ton,
As much as I want to see you succeed in creating your perfect jacket, it makes me sad to think of you leaving this game.
Reminds me a lot of when I was drinking man and I spent most of my time in the bars. I had one friend who was always talking about slowing down and taking a break from the bar scene (not a bad idea in retrospect), I would always get sad when I heard him say this, I knew things just wouldn’t be the same without him around. It’s the same feeling I get when I think about the fedora lounge without you on the hunt

Oh I’m not leaving the lounge brother. Just the leather olympics. Looking for my 40 acres and a mule. I’m happy to farm my land and tell the tale of my experience to the next generation of hunters and gatherers!

@ton312 JL just did a dominator it is on their intragram page. Collar on that looks cool
This one? Yeah it does. Need to get that collar wider though! Not going to be conservative!

What you need is that Suburban collar. Did you do the tracing?
I did. I still think I’d like it pushed more to the shoulder. It will alienate most but I really want to get as close as possible to my old Vanson/Logan days of future past as possible, without jumping over the line. And there is a line/bridge too far.

That Vanson old looks great - do you know what model it is? It hints at 1970's but really it just has a generous, or shall we say sincere, collar? What's the back length on it and is it in competition hide?

Why not fully spec out what you want with Johnson leathers? They will do whatever you have in mind and enjoy the challenge to boot! :)
And getting a mock up jacket will help you get what you envision

Thatbjacket jad the white label Seb. It was short in back. About 25” but had a dropped front. It reminded me of a buckle-less model B with a spread collar. While it was completely weight it was super light. I’d say in the 2.5oz range. Nowhere near the weight of modern Vanson hides. I wish it had fit but I think it was a 40”. I couldn’t zip it and I feared I’d blow it apart if I wore it. Haunts me though. Never have seen another like it.

Johnson sends you a cloth mock up of your custom jacket to try first? I am intrigued.

I contacted them a short while ago about doing something in the fall but had no idea it was that thorough.

@Colin G it depends. Usually it is a stock size leather jacket. Like a stock m200 or m500 from my experience

Unless it is a model they do not make and if they cannot just change some specs on one of their base models. I had them make me 4-5 jackets just changing around their m200

My jacket was a full custom with a pattern made specifically. I can't recommend them enough :)
