How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Just bought a jacket by mistake. Now you thinking.. how do you possibly buy by mistake, what a dumbass.. and I probably am.. :D I made an offer at ebay, not in a bidding, but this "make an alternative offer" button and I guess I should've read the terms of use first because it turns out this is some automized shit where the seller can enter a limit on how much lower he wants to go and the second you make your offer, the deal is done if it is within his limit. I thought it was more of a "eyy can we talk about this" function. Oh well. Whatever. Here's what I bought anyways:

http://www.ebay.de/itm/VINTAGE-60S-...729099?hash=item4d53d1a18b:g:lIIAAOSwqM1YmwgX

It's brown horsehide, which Vanson isn't doing anymore for a while. I am not sure that it is from the sixties though, but whatever. If it fits, I keep it. If not, I can still return, luckily it's a commercial seller, not a private one.

Let us know how it fits when you get it :)

I did that once. I was holding my then 6mo old son while on ebay. He pushed something and bought a Vanson Ike.
I managed to explain to the seller, but in hind-sight, should have gotten the jacket :)

I was eyeing that one for months. The price is great but on the other hand, I just knew I'd be selling it within a week. This style just doesn't sit with me. In any case, that's a good seller and in case you change your mind, you can talk to him and I'm sure he'll let you out of the deal without any hustle. :)
He had this Belstaff Montana which I just can't get over... Was going back and forth for two days, whether to buy it and by the time I made up my mind, it was gone. Such a nice jacket...

lol but yeah, you can set up your auction so to automatically accept offers higher than whatever so that's what just got you a sweet new jacket.

I've been eying up Montana style jackets recently myself.....

Richa do a couple of very nice options:

http://www.richa.eu/en/hampton-jacket?cid=2 - this is the black one, but I've also seen it in green.

I'm very tempted myself by Silvermans' GTH own-brand version, in either wax cotton:

https://www.silvermans.co.uk/collections/clothing/products/gth-magneto-mk2-jacket?variant=4837603267

or black leather:

https://www.silvermans.co.uk/collec...th-leather-roadster-jacket?variant=4194747395

The sale price of the black leather one is very, very tempting, even though I shouldn't be looking at jackets at the minute! If they did one of these without the chest patch pockets and maybe just one breast slit pocket, making it look closer to the Lewis Leathers Universal Racer, I don't think I'd be able to resist. That said, I find myself weirdly tempted by the sort of Star Warsy vibe of the sandy yellowy wax cotton one. I think that would age very nicely. I've handled a few of the GTH brand jackets; no idea where they are made (at this price, most likely Pakistan or India), but I was certainly impressed with the quality for the money.

Unaccustomed as I usually am to having disposable income these days, I suddenly found myself with the prospect of some money coming my way this summer - and I was initially thinking of an ANJ-4 of course, but I do already have an ELC RW B-3 and Irvin (1942 patt.) - and I have experienced a huge change in my lifestyle this summer with me moving house and moving out of the city and in to the country - so I'm no longer riding a mountain bike to work in all 4 seasons (as I have since I was 18!) but am now commuting in a car/comfy buses and trains (fear not, I can more happily ride the horse trails at the bottom of the property, so I'm hoping not to fall out of shape!) and, on reflection, I felt that an ANJ-4 may be too warm for the commutes in winter - so I was then thinking that a quality nylon flight jacket with a mouton collar would serve me better and make more sense.
You may recall my asking a lot of questions here about B-15s v B-10s back in the summer ... and Charles at HPA was super-helpful on that thread and in the end, at the photo-finish, I opted for a Buzz Rickson B-15D (1952 model) in the sage green. But no more was said by me after that as I have been waiting and waiting for the money to come through.
Happy to report that the money finally came through last week - and just now, I have placed my order at HPA for:
1 x Buzz Rickson B-15D (sage green) - their last one in my size!
1 x Buzz Rickson A-10 gloves (rust knits).
1 x Buzz Rickson Original spec. chinos (to retire and upgrade my Dockers Khaki K-1's which suddenly felt like flares at that Christmas party I mentioned here). I wanted something a shade trimmer but still classic to go with the rest of my gear. I'm rather hoping they'll help scratch the itch I'm feeling for some selvedge denim ...?!

Can't wait! :)

I'm happy to say not a thing. Don't want anything and don't "need" anything. However, I'm looking very forward to seeing other members jackets that have been mentioned as something coming down the pipe. I'm looking at you @red devil, and your green Thedi x zip. ;)

^^Now that's a treat that will be waiting at your door!! :)

Just an offhand question for you, Butte, Nick, and many others -- how do you all in California manage to wear these jackets? Seems the season would be rather short...
AeroFan,
I live Berkeley, just across the bay from San Francisco, and the climate here is pretty mild year round to tell the truth. I suppose the answer to your question is that I look for any excuse I can get to throw a jacket on. Any time I leave the house and the thermometer reads 60 degrees or less I bring a jacket with me and hope for a cloudy day... In the wintertime it rarely gets below 40 degrees around here but it's usually quite nice with a leather jacket and maybe a Filson vest underneath for good measure.
The one jacket that I almost never get to wear is the Eastman B6 in my avatar photo. That jacket is complete overkill for the mild winters we have here.

Nothing for me! Or whatever cheap comes along. But it has to be extremely cheap. I'm done buying expensive jackets. My current favorite was $20 so I don't see the point anymore...

Nothing right now (pissed all the dough away at the casino) but today I tried on a vintage Bates Cafe Racer that was really cool, albeit too large. That's a new contender. Bates makes a substantial jacket!
But I left the stores today actually not feeling the need for anything. I have a pair of Sugar Cane jeans coming in and have opted for a Buzz A-4 cap and ELC wallet to gift my dad from HPA.

Bates are the best! I know people who've ended their CR quests with a Bates CR. ;) Go for it.

A friend of mine's cat managed to buy a DVD on ebay once - and she'd only left the browser open on the page and unattended for seconds!
Given my cats tendencies to lay upon my laptops, I better not leave that "James Dean" eBay auction open. At 250k starting bid, I'd have to sell some kids, cars, and lord knows what else ;)

We don't! Or early mornings. NorCal is much more moderate weather wise. Esp the Bay.

I returned the Vanson because it's condition was far worse than described in the ebay auction, zipper broken, leather broken, cheap and thing and also worn out replacement knits. Bought a 70s vtg Schott bomber jacket instead which I already received and gave a thorough Lexol treatment as the leather was pretty dried out. I hopefully get to take a few pictures and review it here tomorrow.
