How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

This jacket has been on eBay for years. I’ve been eyeballing it forever. In my watch list and out at least a dozen times. These longer styles get no love (except from me:D) so I made what I felt was a very good offer based on the label (Fieldmaster post Hercules era Sears). Coming in cheap, looks to be (mostly) solid. Won’t need as much Botox as the last few old ponies I’ve *rescued (or attempted to).
Could easily be the Google top hit for “basic jacket”

I have this coming in. My limited experience makes everything feel like a gamble, is it authentic, am I missing important information that would make it undesirable, did I pay too much etc. Anyway, it’s a field leathers in Badalassi. Could be great I hope.

Have the same model in navy-blue HH. Early works from Greg. That pale green Badalassi looks great.
Hope it fits. Good deal for a very nice jacket!

Well, the cold water short cycle washing machine was a good technique !

I have gone from that

To this (photo inverted because of the mirror ) !

I have managed to put the fold back in place when the jacket was soaking wet and it has kept its position as it dried ! The bulge is now way more discreet, almost gone.

I must say that with cold water it has not shrinked at all.

It is now 80% dry after three days. After I will have to clean it with soap saddle and giving him the mink oil treatment, and it will be ready to go for a long time !

Thank you for the input. I’m looking forward to seeing it! I live Badalassi. That was one of the bigger selling points for me.

It’s hilarious to me how import the FL stamp of approval is for me. There is a huge amount of knowledge here. Heck even just a few members have huge amounts of experience and knowledge. Does FL give out PHDs?

Very nice! Is this one of the latest ones from Vanson? If so then you and I are jacket bros. I will be curious to hear your thoughts when you receive it.

I believe it is one of the latest. I really, really like it. The fit, feel & movement, hide (Z150?), studs, zips, lining, belt, and on and on. I will try to just wear this jacket for the next few months when riding. See how it goes.

We have more than this jacket in common— LW CHP and Vanson Chopper Octagon come to mind. Any others?

Of course you're right, silly of me to forget those two. We also both have heavyweight vintage Cal LAPD jackets in common, although I know, at one time you had quite the collection, and I only have the one.

officially put the deposit down on the CXL natural HH route 66 from Aero. Nothing against thurston bros but Holly was super helpful with my first jacket and really nailed what I wanted, so I see no need for the fit jacket. Unfortunately it probably wont be cold when I get it but still looking forward to it. This is my one last big purchase (for a while), since the missus and I are about to have a big move in more ways than one

What’s silly is that I remember what jackets you have in your closet. I too only have one LAPD now. All that work to get to where you always were.

Just picked up a near-new Valley Apparel issue Nomex CWU-45/P. This one is from their 2014 contract and is in the newer matt finish Nomex. Been wanting one for a while and waiting for a decent price.

Found one on e-Bay from a good seller and already has the Velcro for my squadron and other patches. Looks like it was never worn with no pilling, and the tag looks brand new.

Valley Apparel is charging $460 for these, but I last checked almost two years ago on the price. It's likely even higher now.
