All measurements good (P2P 23.5”) except the damn 18” S2S. Just too tight for my glorious delts lol. If it were 19” I would be golden. Stunning hide. Everything about the jacket is top notch.
Nice looking leather! Is it moving on? Sorry, my condolence on the fit
Aero Hooch Hauler natural HH came in 2 weeks ago, a lovely jacket but still needs to break in. The natural leather CXL is very thick, more so than my other CXL HH jackets.
No problem, I like to work with the thick leather and get it into shape.
D pocket jacket arrived.
I really like this d pocket design. View attachment 448285 View attachment 448286

Fresh out of the box a few minutes ago. More details to follow, but I’m very happy with everything!
I hope you get the jacket this weekend! From the photos it looks awesome. It's like a Californian made Lewis. JL makes very awesome jackets. My JL was out for delivery today - after being stuck in customs for 10 days - and the tracking site had a live tracker of the delivery car, an estimated time of arrival and even a counter how many delivery steps were left til mine. After 8 hours of VERY frequently checking for updates and the delivery car being tracked through the entire town, the number of delivery stops before me counting down from 72 to 3, the status changed to "cannot be delivered today". Feeling murderous right now..
Have to admit, I would feel the same way.My JL was out for delivery today - after being stuck in customs for 10 days - and the tracking site had a live tracker of the delivery car, an estimated time of arrival and even a counter how many delivery steps were left til mine. OMG wow. Congrats! I too have a fascination with shearling, not necessarily just B3s. It's crazy because I live in Los Angeles area, 111 f. yesterday LOL. But I actually wear my shearlings the most of all my jacket collection from Nov to Mar because they're perfect to grab and go in the morning for taking kids to school or quick dog walks, etc. No need to layer. Can just put on over a tshirt and sweats or jeans. Some day when I retire to Oregon or Washington coast somewhere, all my jackets will get to shine LOL.Always been a huge B3 fan (they get plenty of wear time up in Alaska) and some might even consider my interest in them mildly obsessive, but hey. The B3 had a first pattern contract in 1933, it was revised in 1935 and contracted to Werber. It was a kind of fusion of Irvin and what became the standard B3. It has zipps at the cuffs and gusseted pits, among other pattern differences. Most notably it was among the last of the whiteskin contracts.
The only photos I have found of a original were a deep dive on the web some years back. (see below)
Getting an email from John Chapman is like finding out that Christmas is coming unexpectedly. After planting the seed a few years ago about a 1935 Werber B3, I got word that it is on its way. It is kind of embarrassing how giddy a grown ass man can get about things like a leather jacket. Now is the absolute hardest part, getting through the next few days checking the tracking obsessively.
More to come.
