How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

What size is the main zip you got from Japan? Is it a Talon repro? May I ask how much they charge for the main? Thx.
Talon repro size 5. I don't know how much they charge (Greg ordered them), but I have been told that these Japanese repros are much more expensive than Chinese repros.

They look real nice. I like the idea of brass hardware. The warm glow of brass is more appealing to me than the cool sheen of aluminum. On most leathers, anyway. Match it with a brass buckle on your belt and you are good to go!

It was actually Greg's idea to go brass for this project. First I said no, let's stick with nickel. Because somehow I thought brass goes well with brown leather, nickel with black leather. But then I though about it some more and I saw this addict clothes post on Instagram. Combination looks badass.

That's what I am talking about!
I had a steerhide Lesco cross-zip with brass hardware, sold it, and I got this horsehide Spiegel, also with brass. Somehow brass works better for me with cross-zips, perhaps because there are a lot of zippers and the color stands out. Dark brown tape reinforces the look. Cafe racers I can have with alu on black tape.

My Field leathers modified Idaho project has been on hold for a couple of weeks because I decided I wanted brass hardware, which had to be ordered from Japan. View attachment 262752 The hardware arrived yesterday. Greg has also made changes to the pattern to address the issue I had with the front shoulder: View attachment 262753
He took one cm off each inner shoulder tapered down to nothing. He also told me he made some minor alterations to the neckline. Not sure how or what, but the jacket will be ready by the end of next week so I'm going to see the end result pretty soon. Can't wait :D

Can't wait to see your project. Happy days ahead for everyone who ordered the brass hardware.

The solid will tarnish and age beautifully...the coated is more yellow and will dull slightly, but then wear to either copper or zinc as the coating wears off. I know Waldes makes unvarnished brass zippers, and they start to tarnish once you touch them.

At Target today. Cart full of groceries and I spy this Levi’s Sherpa trucker. Literally the LAST thing I need. Didn’t even stop the cart. Threw it on top of a bag of frozen strawberries and went right to check out. Nice one. Canvas. I dyed it gray. WTF is with these jackets and why do I love them so.

I used charcoal gray Ritt dye. I like that the stitching pops now (as it should on a trucker) and the dye somewhat muted the faux fleece. Hard to tell from the pics.

How did you dye it without staining the sherpa lining???
