How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Can’t wait to see pics of yours! I have to say the Connolly steerhide is gorgeous stuff. Maybe your epaulet veg tan will beat it in time, but I really wish this leather were available from current makers.

Incoming: 1960s Langlitz Police Cascade, unlined. If it fits, I may take it to Langlitz and have a liner put in.

That fits absolutely perfect. This one would be a very good candidate for a “one jacket only” type of collection. Covers all bases IMO. Well done.

Thanks Terry! No, it doesn’t :(smell which was a disappointment. I was really hoping for it to... but for a 35 year old jacket it’s in fantastic shape. The only holes are in the lining along the belt line. The zippers are incredibly smooth, and the stitching (which is more like Himel and GW) is all tight. One incredibly well built jacket.

That's a beautiful hwm @handymike! And your photos are wonderful too, really professional quality. Makes me more ashamed than ever with my feeble smartphone pics. What's your set up?
Thank you. I use a DSLR on self timer. I shoot a lot of them and crop out my awful expressions. For the jacket shots, I use a worklight pointed at the corner of my living-room so the wall/ ceiling are making reflections. Set the camera to auto white balance, stand on a ladder and go...nobody else is home of course.

Im hoping for the best with that one.. its taking its sweet time to get here.. any one familiar with Pitney Bowes Shipping? ( I know they make mailing machines but I didn't know they delivered it too)

They are the people behind the Ebay Global Shipping Program, I believe. At least I first heard that name when I had problems with the GSP and tried to figure out whom to contact. My trust in them is very limited since one of their employers straight up stole my jacket a while back. Jacket was sent to the GSP distribution center, where they labeled it as restricted item, refunded me and kept the jacket. Someone probably had to re-pack it for international delivery and liked it and decided to keep it.

This is awesome. I really dig the Cascade design. Didn't know police departments used them. I'd suggest wearing it sans lining first to see how you like it. I'm personally kind of a stickler for originality when it comes to vintage pieces.

Yeah, me too, especially for a jacket of this vintage and design. Ive never seen a Langlitz police jacket in this particular design before. I got it for a good price so if it fits, I may just use it as my main riding jacket.

Here’s a question for you all:
How do you feel about pins in leather jackets?
As much as I feel about my new highwayman, the Jacketeer in me wonders if I put two small holes in the jacket will it decrease the resale value?

I hate pins in general. Out of all my jackets I designated one for pins. Its a Schott 618HH. Its a classic punk rock type jacket so I put my punk rock pins on it. Everything else stays pin hole free!

Not a fan of pins. I'd be a little upset if I found a used jacket I bought had pin holes, although I'd probably get used to them over time if I really liked the jacket itself.
