Yes- it's somewhat like celebrating quitting smoking by lighting up a carton of Woodbines with a bag over your head. That’s a beautiful oxymoron, my friend.

Lol! Lucky for you, your approach to the issue is a bit more lighthearted than your analogy.Yes- it's somewhat like celebrating quitting smoking by lighting up a carton of Woodbines with a bag over your head.
It would be a bag with little holes in, natch.Lol! Lucky for you, your approach to the issue is a bit more lighthearted than your analogy.
Quite nice, congrats. Was it from his Sale page?View attachment 165873
Overjoyed. Roughwear 23380 in russet Shinki. Should be here today or tomorrow.

You're a lucky guy and I hope that it fits you! I would never wait >2-3 years for anything (in this case >5 years). I was also lucky to find a used GW Ventura in seal Shinki here in Classifieds and I love it and I'm sure you'll like your's too.Somewhat. I'd sent over some dough to John for an Aero listed on there but it'd been sold. He had this one ready to go instead. This is one of the perks of not worrying about a perfect fit. It's about 24" pit to pit, much like my Aero Leather A-2. So, it's an inch big in the chest, but I save four years! I'm really not picky whatsoever. And I gained 10 lbs last year...
Funny, this A-2 thing has come full circle. A few years back I'd ordered a Bill Kelso 23380, similar russet shade.

Oh man first glance was looking real good...but I think that elastic band at the bottom would be a no go for meI haven't purchased this yet and I'm not sure I will or will not. I have a love/hate thing going with it. The elastic waist and patch pockets do not appeal...but the collar, shoulders, 2-way zip and sleeves look good...on the fence.
Yeah that's the thing...it creates a beer gut even when there isn't **necessarily** one there.Oh man first glance was looking real good...but I think that elastic band at the bottom would be a no go for me
I bet it'd be a comfy riding jacket, but for a fashion jacket I'd pass due to the elastic.I haven't purchased this yet and I'm not sure I will or will not. I have a love/hate thing going with it. If you have mixed feelings I don't think it's a good decision to buy it as you would probably re-sell it soon - if I was you, I would wait for a better one. The elastic waist and patch pockets do not appeal to me neither. I'm sure that you will find a nice CHIPS soon.I haven't purchased this yet and I'm not sure I will or will not. Do I have to buy a scarf/hoody and mud flap too?
Damn that's cool, good findScored this vintage United Sportswear horsehide jacket yesterday off ebay - looks to be in rather good shape for the age. I snagged these photos directly from the sellers listing, forgive the clarity. Just hope it fits once it arrives...fingers crossed.
