How did you find the lounge?

Google search for peacoat info. I have a modern Sterling Wear one and wanted to learn more.
I spend most time in Hats forum and have started to pay the financial penalty for doing so :D

You are given the credit and appreciation for directing my Wife to this site, and from that point on, it has been for the most part, very wonderful to be involved in the Lounge. It is amazing how deeply the "hat bug" can bite!!!!

I am lucky enough to be good friends with Bob Hoag who has been apart of the Lounge for years and has also helped me a great deal with understanding different style for different era's. He told me if I wanted to get serious about learning a great deal on the things I was interested in I needed to join the Fedora Lounge.

I found TFL in a google search. I was trying to find out how to choose the right hat and wear it without looking like a dork. I was able to find the answer to almost every question I could think of, and a lot of entertaining reading too. I overcame the dork problem with the right attitude, confidence, and the right hats; but I still enjoy learning more about hats and the golden era here. Thanks.

A few years ago I got serious about buying a tuxedo. I wanted to do it right. Growing up in the 70's my knowledge of tuxedos involved pastels and ruffles. But with a lifetime of watching old movies I knew there was something better. So I did a web search for tuxedo information and found the Lounge. And now, in addition to two variations on tuxedos, I own several hats of various sorts. Curse you all.

I was questioning an eBay seller about a Flechet Fedora I was interested in buying and he asked me if I had ever been to the Fedora Lounge Forum. Never heard of it. What did that have to do with guns, knives, musical instruments, jewelry, or motorcycles? I found out all that is here! I wish I would of bought that hat even though it was a shade small! The Flechet is one of the few brands I do not have. I have never had to overcome the dork problem one of the previous posters wrote either. I don't care if I look like a dork wearing a hat the way I want to wear it. My wife understands that also! You should see the hats I wear at a motorcycle rally! I don't wear anything because someone else wears it nor have I ever imitated the way someone wore it especially some actor on TV. I have always worn hats and have slept in many. I have learned a lifetime and a wealth of information from the members of this forum and greatly appreciate it. Thank You

google for a particular vintage car photos a few years ago, became engrossed in the thread.
then later hit the cars of the stars thread.
Linked to VS website from the masthead ad banner and began plotting purchasing a hat from Art.
Can anyone tell me the make of the roadster Constance Bennett drives in After Office Hours?

Ok, I admit it, I got here looking for info on Indy's Hat.

There, I said it, I feel better.

But, seriously folks. I'd love to claim lots of cool vintage links to the site. Some of them do match up, really Ma!

But ultimately, It was Raiders of the Lost Ark that brought me here.

Sorry :)

I have been here literally since MK started the joint. When we first started, I was the youngest member, and the youngest Bartender. I've now been a part of the lounge for nearly a third of my life!

I've gotten to learn tons of stuff about the first half of the twentieth century. I've seen lots of great clothes, cars, movies, and home furnishings. You all are so knowledgeable about so many different things. Before the lounge, my worldview was small and insular. I had no knowledge of these wonderful people in the world, let alone that many of them would share some of my interests.

The best thing about being a part of the Lounge is that I have made so many fantastic friends, especially among my fellow Bartenders. My life is better because of this community, and I'm indebted to MK for that.

A couple of years or so ago, I put a question into the search engine and the same question had been asked on some internet forum elsewhere.
The answer that I was looking for had been previously posted by someone calling himself I.J. (Indiana Jones, maybe?) His avatar was the lounge's silhouette at the top of the page.
I just googled Fedora, and well, what can I say? Here I am, have to admit though, I did feel a sense of intimidation. Everyone seems so much more knowledgable than me. It's a bit like walking into a party that's in full swing, you can turn round and walk out, or, grab a drink and join in.
