Ah I never noticed this thread before.

I found out about this forum from Undertow, whom I knew back in college.
He told me about it a few months ago, and I continue to curse him for it to this day for I became quite addicted to the place.

.

Searching for information on reproduction WWII or WWI military trenchcoats.

None available, but an excellent place to find myself...

I was doing searches for the Maltese Falcon.

I'm really surprised I hadn't fpund this place sooner. Perhaps it's more
like a speakeasy than I thought! :)

Searching for hair ideasfor my wedding

thus the avatar name!

I posted a couple of things about hair and got loads and loads of help. Vintage betty then kindly some beautiful cufflinks, gloves and net, all of which played a part in the weekend festivites (my husband was over joyed and wore the said cufflinks with great pride on the day - I think everyone heard the story about where they had came from at least twice during the reception!)

Having been met with so much love and warmth I stayed - and I'm very, very glad I did!

I saw threads linked to the lounge from Askandy.com, and lurked for a while before signing up a couple weeks ago.

I met MK at a vintage shop's charity event last December. (Decades Vintage in Portland, OR.) I was busy with my divorce. (I did check it out, but never did anything about it, ended up losing the card.)

When I ordered some back issues of Atomic magazine in August, I was reminded of it. So I signed up. But the length of many threads was overwhelming, and I gave up lurking.

I was bored and tied to my computer a few days ago, and randomly decided to visit again. And realized that all this time, I could have been getting to know this grand (and diverse) community, so I jumped on in.

Matt Deckard himself showed me the way! I remember getting a Fedora Lounge matchbook from him one night at PBDA, but I'm not sure if that was the first I'd heard of it or not.

I really got interested when I was planning my wedding and searching the internet hard for sources.

How great! I was thrilled to do my small part.

I googled 1940's hairstyles. The rest is...well you know. :D
