How about that vintage western look

OK ... so barely vintage I suppose, but I really like the cut, color and texture of this sport coat. It will give me an excuse to wear my cowboy boots more often and it will cost me more to clean it that it did to buy it. :)

Cool jacket, Bob! Great fabric, it's got a nice 50s rock-n-roll look to it, in a western model. Two of my favorite things rolled into one!

Thanks guys. The color and texture caught my eye, but when I pulled it off the rack and noticed the western style I was pretty excited. Then I saw the thrift store tag that said "Size 42". Bummer ... well maybe I could sell it since it was half-price. Then I saw the real size tag, tried it on and ... woot!

Not sure if I've posted this before, but if so, apologies for the re-run. Here's another not so vintage, but vintage styled sport coat. I got it about 10 or 12 years ago. Good vintage stuff in a 48 long is scarce to come by.

Thanks Bob and Bama. I got this on clearance, for less than $20 best I remember. I guess the mainstream western wear buying crowd just doesn't go for this kinda stuff. I've always been a fool for western duds with piping and embroidery. Grew up watching Porter and Dolly, and classic Hee Haw on the TV, and in my mind this is how the stuff's supposed to look.

Here's a few of the western shirts I've "collected" over the years. Some are vintage, some bought new. As you can tell, I'm partial to black with white piping.

Very nice! Diggin' the bolo.

Is the color of the one on the right more accurate in this photo vs. the one in the tie thread?
Thanks Bob.
I'm inclined to say yes about the color, but the other pic was made near an open window using natural light and this one wasn't, so its hard to say. It's more likely that it's one of those chameleon-like vintage colors that takes on it's surroundings.
