Hoss

McCoy has the height of the hat over me but he has about the same width. That thing is huge. It must have its own zip code. LOL
I am very familiar with Elmer Keith. Small dude with a big gun. He sure could handle it too. It was a shame that in his eighties he could no longer fire the 44 magnum accurately because of arthritis in his hands. Gee, I wonder how he got that.
That is a pretty big beast to fire. Pull the trigger and all you see is smoke and fire. :D Makes it kind of hard for quick follow up shots---if you need them. ;)

Regards to all,

My personal favorite revolver. You can shoot anything from snake shot to 300+ grain bear loads out of the same gun. If you miss, and have a short barrel (I like 4 inchers), the muzzle blast and flame will burn 'em to death.... so who needs to be accurate? (grins) Regards. Michaelson

PB hats sure get around... Tom Mix, wow. Just saw his concrete foot prints at Grauman's Chinese theater yesterday.

They really ruined the look of that place by changing the outdoor paint job and connecting it to a huge shopping mall. It used to be a focal point. I had to search for the box office which used to be right up front, now it's a slit in a wall on the side of the mall.

I've been to the Gene Autry museum on many occasions and if you are a hat, gun and leather guy it's a must see if you are in town.

Me coming from the hometown of Roy Rogers, I'd really like to see the Autry museum (along with old Roy's!) Maybe someday.

And yep, PB definitely gets around. They even make hats for ZZTop now adays. Talk about a wide range of customers over the years! Regards. Michaelson

Yep, the four inch barrel gives you quite a bit of muzzle blast. Your hands even get dirty from the soot if you fire enough rounds through it. :D
Quite a weapon if you don't mind not having eyebrows. LOL

Not really. I usually put my revolver in a sock and just swing it around my head. It's a lot easier to clear a room out that way, and you don't have to clean your gun later. Did I mention that a 44 mag makes a great club as well? ;) Regards. Michaelson

The photos I have in my 'Hell, I was there!' book appears to be exactly like the one shown here, but without a bound edge. I know it was a Stetson, as EVERYONE mentioned it as such in any reference to Keith, including editors at Guns and Ammo mag. Regards. Michaelson
