Imagine finding the homburg nation thread on page six! That will not do. Here's a lovely one. Posted it earlier in the MaacLachlan and new hats threads too. MacLachlan homburg in blue. Size 7 with the brim at 6cm and the crown at a towering 11,5cm at the pinch. There was some debate wether or not this hat was actually blue (it does look quite black under artificial light), but in the daylight it shows its true colours. The hat deserves all the praise the brand has gotten over here. Wonderful felt with a lovely soft hand and the finishing is outstanding on the hat.

Ok....here is a really (almost mint, apears quite litte if EVER worn) sweet chocolate brown Stetson St Regis from the mid 60's. Fits perfect, sweat is perfect, liner is perfect, the felt...well you know....is perfect;)!!

Great get, Mark. I find brown homburgs are very desirable. This one looks super.

Fantastic, Max. I like this one very much. Nice straight crown on it. The pre-war ones regularly have a simpler bow design on them and the brim curl is a bit more loose than on later homburg designs. The brim sometimes tightens up a bit with some steaming though. Is there a label behind the sweatband (opposite the Borsalino foil stamp) and can you post a picture of that?

Here they are. One of the pics is taken through a jeweler's magnifying glass I use to look at insects trapped in amber. I hope it is helpful.

Can you see if anything is stamped or written on the far right side of the paper label? This is normally where the Point Size would be. Some of these S.Z. Borsalinos have a separate size stamp. Similar to this one. My guess is your hat is late 1930s early 1940s.

This just in (Well. Almost!) Borsalino Continental Homburg courtesy of fellow hatter 'deadlyhandsome.' I find that even though listed as charcoal, the felt takes on an olive shade in at certain angles in both inside and outside lighting! I'm waiting to see what shade the sunlight will bring! I am happy to share that my collection of Homburgs is growing! This, coming from someone who didn't think he'd ever be enjoying this type of vintage 'luxury.'

No, there is nothing to the right of the paper label, Steven.
Thank you!

Very nice. I guess you are "hooked" now. You wear the style well.

Seems you're really stocking up on these Biltmore homburgs, Brent. How do they compare to others?

Unfortunately, these Canadian Biltmore hats are like most recent production US made hats. They aren’t terrible, but most leave you flat and unimpressed. A few, however, are quite nice. I really like my black long hair.

At the same general price I find Beaver Brand Homburgs to be nicer, but harder to find. There are both “working hats” rather than “dress hats” if that makes any sense?
