+1. Very cool. I have to tweak the brim on almost all my homburgs. For me it has helped to both dip the front/back as well as raise the sides a little.

I'm wearing this today. It's my new Stetson 3X. I really like the char grey color. I took a photo further back to try and show how much lower/smaller this hat is than my other m'burgs.

I wore my new Homburg on a gig tonight and it was a really big hit. Even my wife said it has lots of "character". I must admit, I am liking it much more than I had anitcipated

They do grow on you, don't they!

Jeff, the added distance in that photo does indeed show the hat's relative size. I like it.

They do indeed Randall! And remember, my new love for Homburgs began with a pic of you wearing one. I complimented you on it and you asked me, "Do you have any?" and I was off hunting one down!

Now that I am an official citizen of the Homburg Nation, I am curious to know if there are any decent modern hatmakers that offer the homburg. I tried a Stetson at the Outlet in Garland the other day and did not care too much for it. How about the Borsalino Continental? Anybody here have one? And if so could you post some pics of yourself with it on your noggin?

I must say that I like Homburgs a lot.
Maybe I am totally misguided but to me it is a fairly formal hat, and I am not sure I like the T-shirt with it (no offence meant, of course: it is just my perception of the style that fits this hat)

I agree with you. You must understand though that some of us here wear our hats all the time. I'll be walking around the house with nothing on but boxer shorts and a really nice dress hat. I also will not wait till I'm dressed formally to wear a new hat like the homburg I am wearing in the pics I posted. I LOVE HATS!

What is interesting is the Homburg was originally a casual style hat (see late 1800s). They became a more formal style over time although you would see exceptions (social class, condition of hat, ect.). Today I am not sure any of this matters. I frequently wear my Homburgs with business casual dress (not with T-shirts).

:eeek:....LOL....You killin' me...I hear that....I'm the same way, JB ....lol

I also love the homburg....My first, and only dress hat; for years; was a black homburg, which regretably,I no longer have...
But from the sound of things, I must not be a 'Homburg Purist' as I dig the university style...with a snap-brim....and I like to see them with slight side dents aswell....

I saw a Bailey's New Yorker the other day and was knocked out....It's a snap-brim Homburg with no side dents...I was going to order one after seeing this one but when I went to the Village Hat site, it said it's wool....
That put me off...But I worked with a singer, percussionist the other night who was wearing one, and it looked so great it never occured to me that it could have been anything other than quality fur-felt...

For the Homburg Nation, a Borsalino Homburg!

My new Borsalinos! This old Homburger was expressly made for Fritz Reinhardt Frankfurt.
The paper label inside was destroyed. Some stains on the crossgrain band on the brim.
