Back in the 20s 30s and 40s what were hats more commonly made of fur felt or wool felt? Older people tell me that it was wool felt but my research and everyone here at th lounge tell me fur felt. Which is it?

Although wool felt was sold here in the USA during the 1920's and 1930's , fur felt made from rabbit and beaver was more popular back then. A decent hat during the 1930's was 5.00 while a wool hat could have cost 1.50 . Doesn't sound like a big difference today , but back then it was a lot of money .
