High Waisted Pants & Jeans!

These are my flannel-lined 50s jeans from eBay; I still have this phobia of wearing jeans in public (trousers and nice shorts, I love, but denim makes me feel underdressed [huh] ). They're very cozy and cute for hanging around the home place, though.

You can see the big pockets in this one (ignore my weird ensemble, it's freezing here!):

I browsed your flickr gallery and I must say that you are definitely living the dream of some fellow loungers. great pictures!

The inseam is basically the leg length; you can measure it by taking out a pair of pants that fit you perfectly (especially in terms of length) and measure from crotch to the hem. Good luck!

Oh thank you! I'll do that! I'll let you know how it goes when I eventually get around to them. I have several other things on my "buy" list. :)

I recommend "Edie & Thea - A Very Long Engagement", a true love story about two New York women whose relationship spans over four decades. Two stylish and beautiful women!

For Hanukkah my mom gave me some money to buy a pair of Freddies. However, I'm still not sure what size I'm supposed to get. My measurements are 26-36, but I've heard Freddies are tight in the hips. So do I get the 28-38 and take the waist in? Or would the 26-36 work?

If you get the 26-36, there will be no extra room in the waist or hips since the Freddies measurement is of the actual garment. Most other places tell you what size to order based on your body measurements, they don't give the actual measurements of the garment. I made this mistake with my first pair, thinking the size meant "if your body measurement is 26-36, order this size" when what they meant is "the jeans in this size measure 26-36". Needless to say, the first pair I ordered were too tight. You need to leave some ease, unless you are talking about some stretch spandex or lycra garment that is meant to fit skin tight. I don't think given the style that you would want them to be skin tight in the waist and hips, then they would be loose in the rest of the leg. If you want, you can take a pair of jeans that you like the fit of and measure them. Lay them out flat, measure the waist and hip, double that and you have the garment measurement. You can compare that to the Freddies to get an idea of whether or not you will be happy with the fit. Getting the waist tailored is really no big deal.

When I bought mine, I needed 27-36. However, I went for the 26-36 and found that the waist was fine but the hips were far too small. I kept them, thinking I'd go on a diet shortly afterwards, but since then, I've only squeezed myself into them once. If I were you, I'd go larger and take them in! Hope that helps, lovey x

I finished a pair of 40s high waisted jeans a bit ago. They are too large, so Im thinking of selling them, or adding belt loops. I haven't decided. :eek:hwell:
