It is a sports fishing cap, the extra long bill is supposed to give you more sunprotection for your eyes I guess.

I have one of these! The brim is made of soft deerskin. It is very nice. It is part of my Hemingway collection.
Peterman will bring it back this summer, I beat.
I have had mine since the early nineties.

OK, here is mine. It is very functional. It has elastic in the back and fits quite well. The brim is made of deerhide and has interesting imperfections and is so soft.

It's a great fishing and adventure hat.

I admit I have it, and I wear it quite a bit in summer too.
I've worn it fishing, playing baseball, walking the beach in the Dominican.
One size fits all elastic back, brass grommets.
