Help! Mighty 8th bomber jacket?

Hi guys and gals. Was told this was the site to come to for some help.

I recently bought this U.S.A.F bomber jacket. The artwork on it is absolutely amazing. Front reads the mighty 8th, USAF, and ball turret gunner. One shoulder has a picture of what I believe to be the mighty 8th star, and other side says boeing. Back says B-17 flying fortress and has a picture of the plane as well as a pin up girl holding a bomb that states happy birthday Adolf.

Tag reads- USAF Jacket type G-8, flyer man's intermed, MIL-J-1704B (USAF),

I would like some help to know if this jacket and artwork is correct for WWII, and if it could have actually been worn by a pilot on a B-17. What is it worth? Will post pics as soon as possible. Thanks in advance!!! Ryan.

To my inexperienced eye, it has the feel of a post war jacket, painted by someone who had a real affection for WWII aviation.

Wasn't there a previous thread questioning these G-8 jackets ?
Seem to remember they were thought to be a modern repro-style jacket ?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is likely from the 80's or later, definitely not a WWII a jacket.

It's post-war and actually probably from the 80s to 00s.

Unfortunately the artwork isn't correct for actual WWII jacket artwork. It's a modern homage to the USAAF.

Notice how it also says "The Mighty 8th USAF" - that's wrong in itself, the 8th during the war was part of the USAAF, the USAF not coming into existence until 1947.

Certainly a modern repro of a made up contract . I would say the Artwork was done in the 00's , after the plastic surgery boom judging by the pin ups Chest !!

concering the artwork Looks phantastic but even from the style it is far from what was "en Fashion" in the 1940ies

Interesting.... I've seen the fictional G8 designation used before, but never in a sheepskin (I'm sure they were all quasi-militarised Indy-style jacketsw I saw selling as G8s, passed off as a design that never went into full production or some such). This looks like one of the civilian copies of the B3 I see a lot of - roughly true to the general design of the originals, but with handwarmer pockets added. As has been noted above, the "USAF" designation is a giveaway that the artwork is of a much later date than wartime era, as the USAF did not come into being as a separate service until 1947. War era should be labelled USAAF, or "Army Air Force".
