Probably post WWII based on the cloth-like plastic topper and the price of $10. That was a lot of hat for $10 at the time, considering Resistol was not one of the price leaders. ;)
Whatever the case, a great hat to be worn. :eusa_clap

J

Thanks for the info James, I value your information. I am putting the finishing touch's on my version of what a Homburg will be on my head anyway. I will post photos soon, I have pulled down the front and rear of the brim a touch and added a C-crown and side dents. I feel it looks more my syle as does my wife.

You got yourself a fine hat there. I have several Resistols with that same type logo. Resistol had several different logos that changed with the years. I think it is from the 40s because of the logo and the "TEN" on the sweatband.

Thanks for you contribution Lt.

Ok fellow loungers, here is my version of a Homburg, for me at least. This syle is much easier for me to carry off. I still am not satisfied with the crown, still not smooth enough, but some more steam will solve it I am sure. Any comments?

Bring it back to the way it was or buy a fedora.
This new blocking doesn't look right with that hat.
The original homburg look is one nice hat. You may
simply need to get used to the look or find the right
clothes to go with it.

Just my opinion.

Dating the Homburg

I belive is from the mid 40's because the tall crown and large brim, I have a Resistol ten grey homurg (one of my favorites), that I usually wear in formal events. About the way you modify your hat, I like the original shape.

This is apparently a minority opinion, but I kinda like the way you've reshaped that crown. The original center-dent-only shape has it looking tapered and the teardrop takes some of the height out of the crown and, hence, some of the taper. Perhaps sending it out for a proper reblock would straighten it up.
Sure, the way you've bashed it is unorthodox, but it's your hat and if you like it, that's what matters most.

Actually, I love that hybrid bash. Only an expert (ie. someone on the FL) would know that it was "wrong."

But if you go back to a homburg bash, I think the center crease should be much more shallow -- that's what's tapering the hat.

Oddly enough, I was looking at the Miller hat site and found this Homburg

The pinch is not quite as sharp as what I have put in, but there is a similarity between the two. Hats are meant to be adapted to one's own style and persona. Look at how many "Open Roads" have been rebashed among the members of the Lounge, including myself. There have been several threads devoted to just that. I asked for opinions, and opinions I got. No one is right and no one is wrong, it is just a preference
