Paisley is not a patterned fabric normally associated with Hawaiian shirts. Wiki gives this definition.
Traditional men's aloha shirts are usually adorned with traditional Hawaiian quilt designs, tapa designs, and simple floral patterns in more muted colors. Contemporary aloha shirts may have prints that do not feature any traditional Hawaiian quilt or floral designs but instead may incorporate drinks, palm trees, surf boards or other island tropical elements in a similar form as the traditional aloha shirt

My wife saw the fabric whilst searching for something else. It was an end of roll sale, just a few feet long. The lady measured it exactly, and correctly guessed that a shirt would just about be possible. The result may not be traditional Aloha, but the reaction that the shirt garners is a testament to Tina's talent. I love it.

Funny I wouldn’t call that fabric Paisley to me. It looks like a fern frond motif. Being a New Zealander, I’d call it a koru design.

You are right, my shirt is on the left, a Paisley pattern square of fabric, on the right, is different.
The fern leaf background is what caught my wife's eye when she first spotted the fabric.

Many of my shirts depict some sort of fern leaf, I guess she knew I would like it and she was right.

The fern leaf doesn't get more impressive than this.

The first three photos are various panels of the shirt, the fourth photo is the insertion of the interfacing. This will give strength to the lapels and make button fastening so much easier. The fifth photo is the shirt taking shape. There is still the hem on the sleeves and the bottom of the shirt to finish, but it's getting there.

And finally the finished shirt. She makes it look so easy.

Beautiful work! Makes me want to wear one of mine out today... except for the fact that its 17 degrees here right now lol If one is a "Structural" sewer like I am, They can really appreciate the skill it takes to do really nice finish and assembly!

You should be here Rick in 17c Madrid warmth, real feel 21c later
were up to a balmy 22f here. Supposed to be up into 70f sat / sun. As the old saying goes... if you dont like the weather in texas, just wait a couple days lol

When I moved down here from the Pacific Northwest I kept all my sweaters and coats. I dont get to wear them all that often... but I DO still have them when needed ( If it ever gets really cold, I still have a couple heavy knee length parkas that I wore up in northern Alaska)
