This is a store called https://www.hansonsfabrics.com/ Hansons. Tina calls it fabric Heaven. It is where all my Aloha shirts, and a good deal more, originate. The lady, she is always a lady, will travel in a style befitting her.
For our journey to Hansons at Sturminster Newton, her carriage will be our vintage MG.

Sturminster Newton is a quintessentially old English charm of a village. After Tina has seriously damaged my wealth in Hansons Store, we shall enjoy a cream tea in one of the delightful cafe's that abound.

The trip is more about therapy, taking things easy, as is her medical advice, can lead to tedium and boring. For my busy lady, that can be counter-productive, so today I shall pamper her, treat her like the lady that she is. And we are taking you lot along for the ride. (Do try and check out Hansons.)
MG YB no?

Big Aloha haul from ebay this week! For some reason I stumbled across a bunch of $15 Paradise Found shirts. (2 still had the $69 and $79 sales tags attached)Just couldnt resist. 4 of them all showed up at one time today.. These didnt smell like to one a couple days ago. lol but Im going to tumble them with a damp washcloth and an Odorblaster dryer sheet for a few minutes. Then Im hanging them outside in the wind to work some wrinkles out.

You know your classics. If you can expand the photo, look closely at the tyres. When new it had crossplies but it is now fitted with radials, they are so much safer. Only the YB can be fitted with radials, that's because it's wheelsize dropped from 16 inch to fifteen.
my wife bought me a vintage style 60's blazer, summer weight

We seem to have much in common. My wife came across this sixties style blazer at a vintage festival. She must have caught the trader, who was packing up and loading his van, in a generous mood. He let her have it at a very cheap price. That blazer has been well loved and worn since, and it stands up to constant wear and dry clean.
Always best to treat your Lady! (And what a talented lass she is!!!)
So kind of you to say, many thanks.
Love the tie!!!!
Thank you, I love it that Tina has found a creative way of using up off cuts. That bunch of Paradise Found shirts are most impressive, compliments to you Rick.

Today saw us at Hansons Fabric store. After much searching Tina found the exact fabric that she had her heart set on. There were additional purchases, they are collectively known as notions. That's things like needles, thread, buttons, interfacing, paper patterns and so on.

At the payment counter, my wallet seriously depleted, but all purchases paid for, I look around: "Where's my wife?" Down the end of the shop she has photographed one of the fabric racks. She then texted me the photo.

The black/grey/white fabric, her message read, "do you like it?" I texted back: "I love it."

You have now witnessed the premier of my latest shirt. So new that it's not even been cut out yet.
My lady chose the buttons too. She bought white interfacing, anything darker might show through.

The addiction knows no bounds. Some of my shirts have themes that you might find unusual in the Aloha sense. One of my favourites depicts the golden age of travel. Only the preserve of the privileged minority of course, but the fabric that my wife found and the subsequent shirt that she made from that fabric attracts many a compliment:

The planes, ships and cars from that era are all so evocative.
What you are looking at is a close up of the shirt, the buttons on the left
being the only clue that it might be a close up.

Now it's looking more like a shirt. The colours work with almost any accessory, as this hat confirms:

Some time, well after this shirt was completed, but long before the novelty had worn off, we were invited to a function that wasn't really suited to wearing an Aloha shirt. Whilst I took the point, my disappointment was hard to hide. My lady gave me a knowing smile. "Don't worry Cinderella," she joked, "You shall go to the ball."

Look closely at my bow tie. My talented lady came up trumps, how lucky am I?
As always, the matching of the material on the pocket and front from left to right is impressive. I've seen on one of your other shirts where the pattern was matched perfectly on the side seam, too. Of course there's some discontinuation of the pattern on the sleeves, but I'm thinking there must be some kind of discontinuation somewhere else too. It's just I can't see it. Not in your photos.

Yes! :) I spent more than 15 years doing the Forties reenactment circuit in the UK and I saw a lot of beautiful old classic cars, I remember a YB called Cynthia, yes definitely radials are much more safer, especially on old or wet roads, we do seem to have a lot in common, I like your jacket, what a find eh, mine is going to come out this summer with a nice pair of cotton or linen trousers and a light pair of brogues, I lije the new material, more nice shirts?

We hadn't had the car long when Tina started to call it, "her." That morphed into Jessica. Bemused, I just couldn't work out whether or not it was a name that she had picked at random. Tina explained.

"She's a redhead, just like her namesake." Ah, that Jessica. "And just like her namesake, she has a fabulous body." Can't argue with that.

Tina then delivered a killer line, but as I rather enjoy The Lounge and would like to remain, best I don't repeat it.

We are great fans of vintage events like The Goodwood Revival, we went to as many as possible south of The Midlands, the distance being about the limit for the MG. Our favourite was only about twenty miles away and was free. Have you ever been on the quay at Poole Goes Vintage? How they finance it beats me.

Jessica Rabbit? :D I figured with the curves haha I have been to Goodwood, a couple of times, I also knew a couple of 40s singers did the event, but mainly being based in Yorkshire I did more events in and around there, I remember I wore a demob suit and a fedora for Goodwood, Poole goes vintage, heard of it, never been and I think it tied in with when Haworth 40s was on, when our group the NWW2A did big events, we always wondered how it's financed, Pickering York was a big one, sadly during Covid a lot of events folded
