Cindy, you are always so gracious with your compliments, thank you, much appreciated.
You are right, the car does have that wonderful leather/walnut perfume. Everyone, even youngsters, will put their head through the door and say: "Oh wow, I love that wonderful smell of 'old' car." It's the mixture of walnut and leather. Shame I can't bottle it.
We do love dressing up and try to look the part, but whatever we wear, we can never upstage the old MG.
Oh wow! You two are still just a couple of love birds like Daniel and I! It is just so super that you would share this picture with us here on the Lounge. You both are so sweet and dressed fantastic! And then to look at the MG....it is in super great condition! I can tell you put some time into the MG to keep it clean, polished, and on the ready....

Finally had the chance to join the fun here, the sun was just coming out as I paid a visit to my local hatter earlier today. Wearing a vintage Diamond Head Sportswear gifted from Che and a vintage Montecristi revived by BSHW

Yes you are sharp looking! That Hat and Shirt just goes together so well. I like the yellow as it seems to help give that vintage shirt a "cool" look to it, with a lot of Island inspiration!

Thank you Kirk. Next Sunday, we and the car will be at an annual music extravaganza called: "Summertime Swing." This about the twelfth year, and although it's only a one day show, so much is packed into it. The car will have pride of place on a display stand. I must remember to bring back some photos to show you.

That sounds like that will be an awesome event. Yes please take lots of photos to share. I can't wait to see them.

Tiki Tuesday at one of the local watering holes last night.

One of my embarrassing occasions happened at one of the Polynesian Watering Holes. My girlfriend and I ordered one of these drinks. We were laughing and sipping on the straws. My girlfriend said she had to excuse herself to use the ladies room. She got up andddddd immediately tumbled to the floor. Of course the gentleman that I was I got up to assist her anddddd I fell right on top of her. No casual fall, but a complete collapse! Fortunately the other couple we were with drove us home. The next day the herd of buffalo that kept thundering through my head.

Yet another lovely compliment, aw shucks Cindy, you're too kind. Have to agree with you and others, Mike sets the bar high, and those sunglasses, fab-u-lous, or what?

Something similar, we were at an event with about 400 other people, my wife had left something in the car, I went out to retrieve it. In the meantime, the hotel manager, thinking that proceedings had started, ordered the hotel doors to be closed. Those doors were clear glass, top to bottom. I walked straight into them making one almighty bang in the process. 400 faces turned and stared at me. Oh Lord, where's a sink hole when you need one?

We came across a rare, Riley Woody car today. I got talking to the owner, showing him a photo of my MG. He complimented me on my car, before adding: "I like your shirt too."
Here's a Riley Woody:

And here's the shirt that caught the Riley owner's eye.

You should be a model! Really! You have a real "mans" look sort of like how we still love the original James Bond, he also still has a "mans" look.

How apt, when I'm doing something for us like the weekly shop or anything trivial like that, Tina, my wife, will often say: "Do pay attention, double 'O' seven, I shall be asking questions later."

Today I get the opportunity to wear a shirt that only comes out for special occasions. We are off to a burlesque event later, Tina will be styling two of the performers' hair in a vintage look. One girl loves the piled high on top look, Tina has plans for an I Love Lucy style. If I get permission, I'll photograph it.

This shirt is a one off, the material isn't available, it's been screen printed. The material is heavy duty cotton though, it has to be for the printing to remain fast when washing. Despite that, I just love it.

And worn with a white tuxedo, it's greatly admired. Quite a talent, my missus.

I know that the thread is about Hawaiian shirts, but perhaps I could claim poetic licence, it's a shirt that rarely comes out. (You wait until you see my halloween shirt.)
I was wondering if I should wear a boutonniere, red perhaps. That's a swanky French word for a flower in the buttonhole.

We are dining out tonight. It's a favourite watering hole of ours. Later in the evening they will have a band playing music from the era. Tina made the band members a shirt each, so taken with their shirts, their manager, the saxophonist's partner, asked Tina if she could make her a girly version, here you see the fitting taking place at the said watering hole.

Tomorrow we are off to an all day music festival called Summertime Swing, the old car will have pride of place. My hip makes getting down low to clean the car's wheels and bumpers, too painful to attempt, so I'm off to a hand car wash place that I know and trust. You can see how the dust on the car reflects the sunlight.

And here's the MG all ready to meet her public. it's going to be a great day with promised good weather by the forecasters.

Stepped out to hear a friend DJ at one of the local breweries last night. Since she was spinning exotica and lounge music, I thought it appropriate to rock this Dobbs milan and a silk Avanti shirt with eagles, pine trees, and Mt. Fuji on it. Thanks to Mikespens and his eagle eye for hipping me to this shirt.
