James Butler Hickok as played by Keith Carradine in HBO's Deadwood. David Milch, writer, creator & producer of the series has said that if he had it to do all over again he would write episodes with stories involving Hickok told in flashback after Hickok's untimely death, since Carradine ( & Hickok) meant so much to the series & the real story of Deadwood.

Jack, I read today that HBO is looking at making a "Deadwood" movie. Heard any such thing?
BB, what I have heard is that HBO was considering a sequel centered around Seth Bullock. Bullock was quite the frontiersman, one of Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders, Roosevelt's personal friend, & served as state senator. By centering a sequel or even a prequel around Seth Bullock they could use an actor other than Timothy Olyphant, assuming Olyphant would not be interested.

I've also heard that the only way there will be another Saprano episode would be in the way of a prequel of Tony Saprano & characters prior to being "made men".

I have the 3 season box set.

If a series about Seth Bullock comes about it's success will depend largely on the writers of course. But there should be plenty of material upon which to base a series. Bullock was in & out of Deadwood during his lifetime. He ultimately died there & is buried in the same cemetery as Hickok & Jane Canary. I've been to Deadwood every time I've made the trip to the Sturges rally thru the yrs. Except for the cemetery it's just another casino town today.

When you go to the cemetery you know from history that they are really buried there & it's not just another "Boot Hill" tourist trap.

The many hats of Cullen Bohannon, the main character in Hell On Wheels:

Bohannon_Hats_zpsnd5wnhsu.jpg

For various story-related reasons, Cullen has gone through six hats in 4.5 seasons. Hats 3 and 4 are supposed to be the same hat that Cullen has re-shaped to his liking, but the crown on hat #4 has less taper and the brim binding is different from hat #3. Hats 5 and 6 are supposed to be different hats, but they could be the same hat that has been modified by the wardrobe department. Not pictured is a "Mormon" hat that was worn in three or four episodes, but it was essentially a new version of hats 5 and 6 with a simple black ribbon.
