Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries, an Australian show about a wealthy Aussie lady who becomes a detective.

The costumes were very good. The show was only marginal, in my opinion.

Archie had a great hat. I wonder if it's in the Smithsonian with his chair?

Watching shows like this sometimes make me wish I was a one hat guy... feels crazy to even type that ... but there must have been something nice about having one hat a year... your hat that you grabbed every time you left the house

Ya know what I’m sayin’ ... or?

I feel that too. If I had a couple of Fed IVs I'd probably wear one or the other every day.
But maybe I'm just kidding myself.

I hear ya. I've thought the same, myself.

Yes. If nice is easy by having only one hat - then yes. But just think how much angst Archie would feel checking into the Fedora Lounge and seeing Anthony's hat collection and knowing he had just one hat. EDITH....lets head out shopping and get me some hats! The boys at the bar and union would be aquiring hats and pretty soon all the best sized, quality vintage hats would be off the market. Off permanently! Oh no, now the FL folks would have angst and have to source Europe and the East Asia for hats. Craziness would ensue. Hard to fathom. I bet if Archie could choose any, he would have chosen a vintage Stetson Custom V -American made and themed.

In re-thinking my answer - no easy is not nice. ;) Choice in life is excellent. (Had too much caffeine this evening.)

The Smithsonian has his chair and a hat, but it's clearly not the hat.

I only have 10 hats (eight, if you exclude the two my wife doesn't like) and I know what you mean. I think part of the "problem" is that we're all pursuing that one elusive hat that perfectly meets all of our wants and needs. But until someone creates a hat that can magically change colors, proportions, and shape, in order to match those, wants, needs, and our visions of the perfect hat, the search continues and we end up with more hats than we know what to do with.

"Adventures of Superman" TV series from the 1950s, with George Reeves.

None of the men in my family wore hats when I was growing up, so I'm convinced I developed my tastes in hats from watching this show--straight sided crowns and wide(ish) curvy brims.
