You mean this one?...Season 1, Episode 5 introduces Barney Fife's salt-and-pepper suit and this Optimo creased Panama -- different from the one you see later on with a fedora crease and wider ribbon...

I would never have guessed he wasn't American.

It sure is!Good looking.

It's still in the "setting up the characters and establishing the premise" stage. They supposedly have five seasons planned out, so they're taking their time telling their version of the story but they throw in just enough vague intrigue to keep most viewers interested in seeing how things are going to play out. That's a damn fine looking hat. I didn't know he was in that. How is it shaping up? I do not carry HBO, so I've not gotten a chance at it.
I agree. It seems the background Hosts get the more "weathered" and "period correct" clothing and hats, while the prominent Hosts and Guests get the "Hollywoodized" versions. Given the premise of Westworld being a fantasy/amusement park I can understand why they might cater to what people today think the American West was like based on movies and television shows they've seen, but if it actually existed and I were somehow able to attend I'd probably ruin it for everyone by spending my entire time there pointing out what they got right and what they got wrong. On the other hand, I'd probably be grateful that the town streets weren't realistically paved with animal and human biological waste products.Unfortunately, the hats on Westworld are a weird selection from period-correct to modern rodeo. A gunslinger in a tooled leather hat? Good thing he's a robot, because a human would have heatstroke. Not watching it for the hats, but hard not to notice.
Can't post a screen shot, but Al Roker of NBC is sporting a nice fedora at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade broadcast. Probably a nice modern, looks like a 2" brim. A nice looking hat for millions to see and appreciate. Maybe he will convert some folks.
I noticed it, too. Thought the brim a little more, but trust your eye. Can't post a screen shot, but Al Roker of NBC is sporting a nice fedora at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade broadcast. I'll give it another 1/8" of an inch, but it is kinda stingy looking. Still a nice hat, nicer looking felt.I noticed it, too. Thought the brim a little more, but trust your eye.
The Cartwright's of Bonanza.
