Can’t open the link without a subscription but I can read a thousand pounds. That would make a few delicacies.

Been out for coffee under a Knox American Royal Arminto clone, on this beautiful morning.

Woodford is a staple for me. If you can get the double oaked, it has a richness and depth that have made it a favorite of mine.
Just tried the double oaked. We started with a glass of the regular Woodford Reserve to make a comparison. Certainly seems more rounded and probably worth the few extra yen.

I spent the day under my Hornskov Mogul.

A beautiful day in the neighborhood... Put on the Crash-test Catera (Stetson 5X). Did some yardwork, woodwork and was getting buzzed by a C-130. After all of that it seemed like a good time to enjoy a Yeungling Flight on the back deck with my wife.

All is well.

We cracked open a bottle of Old Pulteny the other day. Neither of us were particularly impressed. I got quite a strong briny, seaweedy flavour that was just too much for me.

Anyway, we decided to have some more last night to get through the bottle we don’t like quickly.
I took one sip, thought “what’s going on here?”, took another sip to confirm, turned to Etsuko and said “this is really good!” Etsuko confirmed.
I’m not sure if it was opening the bottle up to the air or the food & drink we had prior to the whisky, but those maritime elements really seemed to have had the edge taken off them.
I wore my Hückel yesterday.

I’ve never bought any but I do read that it is sea salt & seaweed which I always found strange being a Highlands whisky. I do believe what you ate last & when you ate last does play a factor in taste. Some whiskies are better as an aperitif & some taste better as a digestif or bedtime dram.
