Evidently, you aren't old enough to remember PBR in the height of its popularity with the college crowd back years ago. I'm not going to say that I am, as that would date me, but it's probably obvious.

Pabst changed the formulation 10 or 15 years back, and it no longer holds the nostalgia for me it once did.

My grandfather was labor relations negotiator for Pabst Newark, NJ brewery and one of last two employees when they closed the plant in the 70s

Blue Moon was on buy one get one promo so tried out these two. Enjoyed the mango wheat…. Very refreshing on an incredibly hot 4th of July afternoon. Stetson Musketeer looking on.

Sad to say, but yea I'm definitely old enough to recall Pabst "back in the day". That was at a time I was drinking Fire Brewed Stroh's and Ripple wine

I do recall the days. I also vividly recall watching my first TV football with my Dad and singing to the Hamm's "Beer Freshing" commercials. I am not sure I knew about beer, but the bear and the jingle were just the ticket to my Dad's football world.

The promo was grand. I hoped you enjoy the refreshing beer on the Holiday.

Monday evening popcorn and a Bent Paddle Brewing Summer Ale was dinner and a treat.

Mid week the evening temps dropped into the 50'sf. A Founders Porter was the ticket for an evening walkabout. A terrific beer that should be stocked in a beer refrigerator.

It remained cool, but I switched to a Deschutes Hazy IPA.

Home shortly ago and enjoying a Friday late afternoon walkabout with a Surley Supreme.

Negra Modelos earlier with my Stetson 7X Fifty. Back home now for NBD opening a bottle of Tequila Ocho Single Estate Plata.

I grilled buffalo and habanero sausage and paired it with wild rice and a green salad for dinner. A Surley Supreme was my grilling beer. Grilling was done in a Stetson Stratoliner.

I headed over to the neighbors dock to visit.

Yesterday evening coffee with some Baileys added was perfect for a walkabout in the cooler temps.

Sun rise dog soirre completed and I am home sipping Atlas Costa Rican coffee.

Thanks! That was the last of my Porter. The Porter is not quite as dark as in the pic. I guess the hat might have caused the auto exposure to overexposed the Porter?

I should also mention they both pared well with a bowl of Black Magic Woman pipe tobacco in a Boswell Minie Ball pipe for some heavy reflection & contemplation.

Prairie Star Porter out of Kansas looks (in pics) and sounds (on-line reviews and yours Jack) to be a good drinking porter. I will have to put out a call for a bottle of the beer. Excellent hat!

Tonight I got home before the sun set and set out on a walkabout with an Omni Megaberry. This hazy sour beer I really loved it a couple of summers ago. I got some delivered this past weekend. Tonight I like it, but I believe my tastes have moved on. Tasty, sour with a fruit (predominately raspberry). Omni Brewing listened to customer feedback and reduced the vanilla and sweet aftertaste. Easy drinking sour hazy.

I desired a beer with a bit more bitter hops and thick on the tongue so I sipped a Guinness Imported Stout grilling and finished it with dinner. Habanaro braut w/homemade mustard. I had a serving of my wife's potato salad and some homemade beans from the crock pot. Beans homemade allow me to bring some heat and reduce the sweet. A terrific dinner highlighted by the darker beer.

National Tequila Day is a wk from Sat, 7/24. Fair warning!

I had this on tap. The initial hit of grapefruit was almost overwhelming, but moved to the background with a second one and some food. I would consider bringing a few cans home.

I was wearing this Stetson 3X. It was a windy day and my daughter thought I was channeling The Lorax.

I’m not a drinker, but I found this to be interesting. Apparently you can soon enjoy some Inner Mongolia Scotch (I know it can’t be called Scotch if it doesn’t come from Scotland).

This evening my Whiskey Wolfbrae and Natterjack Irish Whiskey (a very smooth, clean, and subtle spirit.) Followed by some Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon. Really interesting dark rich whiskey with some almost maple syrup flavor.
