Hat-wearing Musos

Who is the best hat wearer of all the big musos?

My pick: John Lee Hooker.

I have been looking at a DVD of his performances and there are some there that would knock out even our esteemed co-Lounger Art Fawcett.

There is a Panama ribbon side detail which is like you see the USA flag unfurled in a semi-circle. Like you see at the end of the Presidential car on those films of railroad campaigning out the back of the caboose.

I'm sure I can think of plenty, but when I 1st read this thread, he was the 1st to pop into my head.

There are a lot of them, especially when hats were commonly worn, but Lester Young became synonymous with his Pork Pie hat:

Charlie Mingus's "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat" is a tribute to Young.

Thelonious Monk was also pretty fond of hats.

That's a nice one; love the expression on his face. I love Monk's style, musically as well as sartorially. Alas, I'm cursed to have a great ear for music and a complete inability to make it.
