On a new note, what would you gents personally wear with a zoot suit? Seeing as he really isn't wearing a zoot in BTAS.

"Californio Hat" (Bolero-ish)

Here's a few photos of the hat from Village Hat Shop that is 13+ years old. It is similar to a Bolero type with a rolled edge.

I've been informed that it was made by the Langenberg Hat Co. especially for Village Hat Shop. I was going to sell it, but since my wife and I are starting to play "Western" (not Country & Western) Music, I may end up keeping it as part of the "wardrobe".

My mom is brilliant!!! She said i'm looking for a Panama hat. I looked up the pix and she was right. Too bad it's too late to do those costumes... I was too broke to get the materials. Oh well. Maybe next year.

That's just a standard fedora style, and probably not as outlandish as most hats associated with zoot suits. Were you looking for a straw hat, or anything purple in that style?

Actually, I'd rather stay away from straw. Something in a nice felt or wool perhaps...

Also, and it may just be me, but the brim on that looks a little wider than your standard fedora... Which is what I'm going for.

I put purple fedora into a google image search and got this. Is that about right? As to width, brims range around an inch to nearly 4.
