What I did was do some light pouncing on the hat to smooth out the finish, (the finish on Akubras can be 'scratchy'). I saved the fluff from the pouncing. Then I took some sticky tape for a backer and put it on the inside of the hat over the hole. After that, I put a little glue into the hole on the outside and shredded up the fluff with tweezers and lightly patted the fibers into the hole with my finger to blend it all in with the surrounding felt. The texture and the color matches perfect and you can't even tell that there was ever a hole in the hat.Did you punch the hole all the way through and then plug it? I have had success using that as long as i have a donor felt I can cut the plug from. Great job.
