Very nice hat! I’m going with 2 5/8 rim, 4 1/2 crown diamond crease by Art, 1 inch burgundy ribbon, burgundy binding.
How tall would make the crown open?
Thanks for all the advice!

The open crown height can cover a range of heights depending on how it is creased. Art tends to have his crowns closer to 5.5 inches; also a classic height. Whatever Art makes for you it will be a great hat.

That’s a good question.

I don’t know if these are different colors or just the same colors we’re used to but given different names.

Just as an example, there are so many different versions of brown, here represented by 'chocolate,' that it boggles the mind. The colors shown in the graphic, therefore, should only be used for the hats made by this company.

Of course. You can’t use Chevy’s color when ordering a Ford. This is just to add yet another company’s take on various colors.

Are these Winchester colors? I'm curious because I noticed the "coyote" color and wasn't sure if it was still available. I would kind of like to see it. I have an order in with Rick for an Indy hat, and the dark brown kinda doesn't sit right with me. I know Winchester doesn't offer the "sable" color of the original Indy, but dark brown just seems too dark, and the dark brown ribbon almost blends in with it. I'm highly interested in the "whiskey," but I worry it may be too yellow and stray too far from the original color.

For what it's worth, I had the same concern about the "yellow" in the whiskey color. Almost every picture of whiskey-colored Winchester felt seemed to have some yellow in it, but the hat I received from Michael Gannon a while back is not yellow at all, just a nice mellow mid-brown. I was fretting about the color choice until I received it, but I really like the color in person.

They are Winchester colors; however, I believe that coyote was one of the former proprietary colors from VS which now are available in sporadic runs but with a minimum order of 36.

I have a Winchester whiskey made by Northwest and it doesn’t have any yellow in it that I can see. Now pecan definitely has some green tones going on but that’s a whole different story.
