Thanks Man, I have heard of them. Appreciate the tips
Etsy is the place to go to find a good deal on what you are looking for. If you are gonna do the work yourself, learn about using your steam iron on an ironing board and how to "swirl" your ribbon that you plan on putting around the crown so it will lay flat and not pucker around the top edge. I am sure you can handle making your own ribbon and bow, just remember to take your time and eventually you will get it on right. If you do a few hats, you will have learned what works best as it really is all a learning process. There are videos all over you tube on how to use an iron to swirl a ribbon....once you watch just one, you'll know what and how to do that. Best of luck with what all you do.

Thanks, What's your name? I'm Adam by the way. And have been working on hats for a little bit now. Mostly my own. And have bought my first fur felt body from a vendor in England. It's going to be a Seaplane travel fedora. Gun metal gray. It already has a real smooth finish to it so I don't think I need to "pounce it". It's a rabbit fur. I've already cut it down to size exactly 2.75" for the brim. As stated in Indygear. It's a long time project. My first one completely by hand. And was think of using a black ribbon to be screen accurate. I'll send you pics if you'd like?

Hello All,
I have a couple of hats that could use a ribbon change; however, they are not worth the expense of shipping to and fro. I think I have the skills to install them but not the degree to make a beautiful ribbon and bow. I want something from 1.5" to 2 inches. Any help with this would be very much appreciated!

Are you looking for a source of grosgrain ribbon, or are you looking for somebody to do the work for you? There are many sources of ribbon. If looking for vintage, which is preferred around here, try Etsy or Ebay. If modern, go to JoAnn Fabrics or some such place.

I am looking for someone to make the ribbon and bow and I will try to tack it on myself. It costs so much to ship a hat and these 2 are just not worth the expense. They are modern worn Stetson fedoras but I really enjoy wearing them.
