I know I'll have a Happy Thanksgiving because it'll be "In-Law Free", as the wife and I are travelling again to chillier climes...

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

I am not looking forward to the drive. We have to take separate cars because I have to return home to my studies on Saturday afternoon and my boyfriend has to play a show. Nothing like adding an extra car to the road and extra emissions to the air!

Alas the train is prohibitively expensive. [huh]

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

This time last year I was on a the plane to China, so I missed my turkey and my annual day after Thanksgiving Duck feast too - looking forward to both traditions this year!
And don't forget, please have a designated driver!
Wishing you all the tastiest and happiest of days.

As we salute and subsequently devour the ubiquitous bird, I am, as always, thankful for faith, family, friends, and fellowship.

I am mindful of our men and women serving in other lands and at sea.

Wishing all a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

Thanky Hapsgiving Everydobby!

I'd like to reiterate all the above comments. Thanks for the Psalm, Deacon, it's appreciated.
Bella: I had a couple of vegan ThnxGvg Days over the last couple of years, and I must say they both felt like a whole pile of terrific side dishes looking for a main event without the turkey. It was fun filling up that huge pumpkin with misc stuffing, but it just didn't make it as a main dish. But then again I had neighbors whose family tradition was to go to a vegan Indian restaurant! They loved it and why the heck not!
But the bottom line is: May we be TRULY grateful for the blessings we have, and in these difficult times, maybe we could try to do a little more than usual for those less fortunate.

What wine goes with turkey?:eusa_doh:

I've had wonderful results with Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc as far as whites, and for reds both a Pinot Noir and Lambrusco. I've personally found Merlot to be too dry.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone here at the Fedora Lounge a HAPPY THANKSGIVING! :essen: :cheers1: Enjoy the day.

Little Turkey Day laugh, stolen from another board:

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary.
Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity.
John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary.
Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot.
The parrot yelled back.
John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder.
John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer.
For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed.
Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute.
Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly open the door to the freezer, the parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said, "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."
John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude.
As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued, "May I ask what the turkey did?"

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
