When you knew a costume contest was goin' down, shoulda slapped 'em back on--you do a great bandaged Invisible Man, Charlie.

Thanks, I could've done that.... but I could hardly see and breathe under those! They kept creeping in front of all orifices.
(On the bright side, I got my picture taken with a flapper)

Isn't that taking the theme a bit far? :D

Claude Rains

Looks great! Dear old Claude..... I've dressed as Claude Rains (well, my interpretation thereof, not really screen accurate at all) a few times for the Rocky Horror Show (throwaway namecheck in the opening number). Love that costume, it's funny how people are fascinated by a guy with obscured features. lol Can get kinda hot in there - believe me, I've done that one at all times of the year, and Autumn / Winter is definitely a better season for it than June / July! One of those costumes that is so easy to put together and draws a reaction out of all proportion to the difficulty level. Heh. ;)

ETA: I love those gloves!! Are they really that glossy, or is it just the lighting? They look fantastic. For future reference, re the breathability thang, I've always used crepe bandages for Claude - it's possible to get a nice coverage, and they let the air through nicely. Still hot, but better than the TP! Wrapping your head will always look much better than making a mask with bandages (unfortunately, they always look like a mask), but do remember to leave yourself a strawhole so you can keep the fluids going in!

Thanks for the link, Edward -- I forgot to make that my outgoing voicemail this year.

Oh, well, there's always the Grinch song come Christmas.

Hmmnn..... I know it's probably not what you were gonig for, but I look at this costume and I think "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father - prepare to die!" lol Actually, it's closer to the lead guy, the pirate fella.... add the headscarf and the mask...... Great costume. I love piratey looking stuff. I had a whole pirate phases as a child which was every bit as strong as the Cowboy and Indian thang for me. :)

I hope everyone had a fabulous Halloween. I've really enjoyed seenig all the pictures! I did all my Halloweeny things before the night itself - had a (non-seasonal!) work related event yesterday evening, then just met a friend for a quick drink after. Heading home on the bus, though, I saw some great costumes out on the town, including a really good Joker effort. always got a soft spot for the Joker costume - for me he's one of the great literary villains, right up there with Shylock and Milton's Satan. :) always love to see people give free rein to the childlike instinct to play dress up for a night, in the hope that they'll remember how much fun it is and do it all the more often. Nothing like putting together a great costume for a night out. :)

What I want to be for Halloween?
I tell you want I want to be - I want to be left in peace.
Especially from spoiled kids who only use the candy they are given, to smear all over my car in driveway:rage:

That's what I want to be.

...taken by a co-worker. Nothing extraordinary...and excuse the bunchiness of the orange skirt - it was attacking my legs all day long!

Not as see through in this picture! I had the material and threw it all together the night of the party, not EXACTLY how I planned it to be but people got the idea.

And this is what Leloo was:

She wasn't as pissed as she looks, she just hates my sister and she took the picture, the costume didn't stay on long. My dog Kittie was a skunk but I didn't get a good picture :(

Glad I did that, although it was not intended.
Just like it was not intended that the tons of sweets and candy we willingly and politely handed out to badly dressed kids, should end up all over my car.

Next Halloween we are just not home. Sorry kids.
Or even better I scare the s... out of them.

carter and carebear, after consulting the mirror I decided the world didn't need to see me in an Avenger's jumpsuit but how's this? 1940s dress and the hair color I grew up with.

It's beautiful, and beggers can't be choosers. :eusa_clap

Miss Valerie, all I can say is, "Wow! *eyes bulging*" If your roommate hasn't done everything he can to try to woo you, he's a bleedin' idiot for sure...;)

There's "sleazy-sexy" (oxymoron IMO), and then there's "classy sexy"--and your costume is definitely the latter, at least through this ol' rattler's eyes anyway...

Thanks, works now. :) I can only see a bit of panty... nothing you wouldn't see on the beach anyways. [huh]

You look a lot like my friend Amelia last night (who is apparently my friend now even though she didn't like me much when we lived together) who was a 1920s flapper.

If any pictures of me surface, I'll be sure to post them here.

That's what I kept saying! my underwear covers more than my bathing suit! and I was showing the least skin out of all the girls there.

I don't like anyone I have ever lived with, but I'm friends with them now...weird how it works out like that?
