My wife is always trying to get me to doe something with my gray hair. Personalty I think it is silly- I am what I am-- so what.
Every time I go to a funeral for someone on my mothers side and see all slick heads I feel fortunate to have a few hairs left for someone to worry about.

My hair started to turn gray when I was 26 (I'm now 62). For years I have used VO5 hair dressing for gray hair. It has a bit of blue in it which neutralizes any yellow or dullness. I have been complimented on my handsome head of gray hair. A little dab no bigger than a match head after you wash your hair is all you need.

My Dad went bald in about 1944, I was born much later than that. My Mom's father was a cue ball. Dad's father died when he was little so we have NO idea there. My hair is just proud to be here, gray brown, etc, who cares. Hair is hair.

I used to colour my hair, as I hated going grey in my early twenties [first grey hair at eighteen], and I continued to do so until around thirty... I'm beyond caring about it now, and simply could not stand the hassle of doing it; horrible messy job.

I don't think its fair for men to be considered a joke if they colour their hair; its not really any different to any other form of grooming, and if its done well, why not?

This sums up my feelings on the matter as well, the operative phrase being "if it's done well". A bad dye job is as obvious as a bad toupee, and neither fools anyone.

At the age of 51, my forehead has become a fivehead and I'm beginning to thin in the back a bit, but otherwise my hair is still dark brown for the most part; the gray hairs are dispersed so as not to be too obvious. My moustache and beard are a different matter, and I have far more gray hair on my chin and jawline than on my head. And I don't care; I'm getting older, and it is what it is. Besides which, I've never been particularly vain (nothing beyond common personal hygiene and grooming, and looking passable for my wife, that is), so in my opinion dying my hair and beard would be like putting a fresh coat of paint on a junkyard wreck.
